Job Description & Skill Requirement:
Task Overview:
  • Title: Manufacturing Engineer - Pegasus
  • Discipline: Manufacturing, Electrical or Mechanical Engineering
  • Brief Description: Manufacturing Engineer to support NPI Pegasus hoist manufacturing and qualification.

Scope of Work / Specific Task:
  • Shop Orders (Build): Generate shop orders (routers) to assemble and test an NPI hoist using engineering documentation as a guide.
  • Assembly Instructions: Generate visual assembly instructions or job aids to support assembly and test of the new hoist.
  • Shop Orders (Qualification): Generate shop orders to process, convert or modify qualification units as they are prepared and processed during the testing phase.
  • Shop Orders (Rework): Working with the Material Review Board (MRB), generate shop orders to rework, repair or modify qualification units in response to testing issues that may occur.
  • Tooling: Design or modify tooling and assembly aids as needed. This may include mechanical tooling or electrical test equipment.
  • Shop Floor Support: Troubleshoot electrical and mechanical issues during assembly, test and qualification. Resolve and document the associated solutions.
  • Safety & Compliance: Ensure all processes meet strict, mandated safety regulations and certification standards.

Required Skillsets:
  • A Bachelor of Science in Manufacturing, Electrical, or Mechanical Engineering or equivalent is required.
  • Minimum eight years of work experience in a regulated industry (such as aerospace, medical, oil & gas) is required.
  • Proficient with the creation of shop order / work order / routers for a manufacturing environment.
  • Experience with a shop floor management system (i.e. IFS, SAP, PRISM, ERP, MRP, or similar manufacturing software).
  • Experience with manufacturing and testing electromechanical assemblies.
  • Skilled in troubleshooting and root cause analysis.
  • Experience designing, building, or testing circuit boards.
  • Experience with analog, digital circuits, and PCB design.
  • Design, analysis, test, and simulation experience with controls and driving AC, DC, and brushless motor types for military or commercial aerospace equipment, systems or sub-systems.
  • Familiarity with ARP4754A, D-178C, DO-254, DO-160 and/or MIL-STD-810.
  • Familiarity with EMI/EMC testing, environmental testing standards, and safety protocols.

Tools, Software, Systems Used:
  • Required Software / Tools: IFS (provided by Onboard Systems), MS Office Tools.

Reporting & Deliverables:
  • Expected Deliverables: Shop Orders, Assembly Instructions, Test Rejection Disposition.
  • Reporting Frequency: Daily, Weekly, Milestone-based.

Level of Experience Desired:
  • Experience Level: Senior
