Pay Range: $96,000-$125,000 per year

We are looking for a hands-on Manufacturing Engineer to support daily factory operations, improve production processes, and help drive operational excellence across the organization. In this role, you will serve as a key technical resource for the production floor, partnering closely with Operations, Engineering, and Quality to resolve manufacturing challenges, improve documentation, and implement sustainable process improvements.

As Algas-SDI's first dedicated Manufacturing Engineer, this position offers a unique opportunity to help shape and strengthen our manufacturing systems and processes. If you enjoy solving real-world problems, working directly with production teams, and making a measurable impact on how products are built, this could be an excellent opportunity for you.

What You'll Do
  • Serve as a primary technical resource and escalation point for Team Leaders and Production Managers on manufacturing and engineering-related issues.
  • Work directly with production teams to troubleshoot manufacturing challenges, identify root causes, and implement effective corrective actions.
  • Interpret engineering drawings, specifications, tolerances, bills of materials, and product requirements to support production decisions.
  • Manage and support Engineering Change Request and Engineering Change Notice (ECR/ECN) processes to ensure changes are reviewed, approved, communicated, and implemented accurately.
  • Create, maintain, and improve manufacturing documentation, including work instructions, visual aids, routings, process documentation, BOM clarifications, and standardized work.
  • Partner with Design and Engineering teams to clarify design intent and identify opportunities to improve design for manufacturability and production efficiency.
  • Collaborate with Quality on non-conformances, defect investigations, corrective and preventive actions, and root cause analysis.
  • Lead and support continuous improvement initiatives focused on improving quality, throughput, efficiency, safety, and cost.
  • Analyze recurring production issues and manufacturing data to identify opportunities to reduce scrap, rework, downtime, and other production inefficiencies.
  • Support the development and improvement of tooling, fixtures, equipment, facility upgrades, and long-term manufacturing capabilities.
  • Participate in daily Operations floor walks to identify production barriers and help implement practical solutions.
  • Support the implementation and training of new or updated manufacturing processes and work instructions.
  • Help foster a culture of continuous improvement, accountability, and collaboration throughout the organization.
  • Perform other operational and technical duties as assigned.

What You'll Bring
  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Manufacturing, Industrial, or a related Engineering discipline.
  • 2-4 years of experience in a manufacturing, production, or industrial engineering environment.
  • Strong ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, specifications, tolerances, and technical documentation.
  • Experience supporting or managing engineering change processes, including ECR/ECN or ECO workflows.
  • Experience troubleshooting manufacturing or production issues and applying structured root cause analysis techniques such as 5 Whys, Fishbone, Fault Tree Analysis, or similar methodologies.
  • Experience creating and maintaining manufacturing documentation, including work instructions, process documentation, routings, and BOMs.
  • Familiarity with ERP/MRP systems and CAD software.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office, particularly Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to translate technical information into clear, practical guidance for production teams.
  • Ability and willingness to work regularly on the production floor and build strong relationships with employees across Operations, Engineering, and Quality.
  • Familiarity with ISO 9001 quality systems and documentation requirements.

We offer:
  • Competitive compensation of $96,000-$125,000 per year, depending on experience and qualifications.
  • Comprehensive medical, dental, and vision benefits.
  • 401(k) and company retirement benefits.
  • Paid time off and company holidays.
  • A stable and growing company with more than 90 years of industry leadership.
  • The opportunity to work on real-world products and manufacturing challenges.
  • A collaborative, team-oriented environment where your ideas and improvements can make a measurable difference.
  • Professional development and career growth opportunities.
