Full Job Description
What you will be doing

As a Manufacturing Design Engineer, you will play a key role in bringing complex hardware products from concept to high-volume production. You will work across Engineering, Test, and Operations to develop robust manufacturing processes, tooling, and assembly solutions. This role requires strong hands-on engineering skills, data-driven problem solving, and the ability to influence product design through DFM and DFA principles. You will lead manufacturing readiness activities through DVT, PVT, and initial ramp while driving improvements in yield, quality, and throughput. If you enjoy solving challenging technical problems and building scalable manufacturing systems, this role offers significant ownership and impact.

You should have the following
  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or a related technical field
  • 2+ years of experience developing and scaling manufacturing processes for complex electro-mechanical products in consumer electronics, robotics, aerospace, automotive, or similar industries
  • Proven experience leading DFM/DFA efforts and driving design changes that improve manufacturability, quality, cost, and production throughput
  • Hands-on experience designing and deploying manufacturing tooling, fixtures, assembly equipment, and automation solutions for production environments
  • Strong understanding of statistical process control (SPC), process capability analysis (Cpk), DOE, tolerance analysis, and root-cause problem solving methodologies
  • Experience supporting products through DVT, PVT, and production ramp, including manufacturing validation, process qualification, and yield improvement activities
  • Proficiency with 3D CAD tools (SolidWorks, NX, Creo, or equivalent)
  • Strong expertise in GD&T, tolerance stack-up analysis, and driving manufacturable design requirements across mechanical assemblies and supplier components
  • Demonstrated ability to analyze manufacturing data and drive improvements in yield, cycle time, quality, and overall equipment effectiveness (OEE)
  • Experience working closely with cross-functional teams including Product Design, Test Engineering, Quality, Supply Chain, and Operations to deliver successful product launches
  • Strong communication and project leadership skills with a track record of independently driving complex technical projects from concept through high-volume production

Nice to have
  • Experience developing manufacturing processes and production systems for drones, robotics, aerospace, or other mission-critical hardware products
  • Experience with factory automation, machine vision systems, industrial robotics, and custom manufacturing equipment development
  • Familiarity with quality management systems and regulated manufacturing environments, including AS9100, ISO 9001, APQP, PFMEA, Control Plans, and MSA

US Salary Range

$112,500 - $157,000 USD

The salary range for this role is an estimate based on a wide range of compensation factors, inclusive of base salary only. Actual salary may vary based on (but not limited to) work experience, education and/or training, critical skills, and/or business considerations.
