Managing Partner

Position Overview

We are seeking an entrepreneurial, hands-on Managing Partner to lead daily operations, drive financial performance, and cultivate a people-first culture within a well-established, community-focused hospitality business.

This role is ideal for a proven operator who combines strong business acumen with exceptional leadership skills. The Managing Partner will have full responsibility for operations, team development, guest experience, profitability, community engagement, and strategic growth initiatives. The successful candidate will serve as the face of the business while working closely with ownership to execute long-term goals and maximize performance.

Key Responsibilities

Operational Leadership
  • Oversee all day-to-day operations of a high-volume hospitality business serving up to 100 guests with a team of approximately 45 employees.
  • Lead and develop managers and team members while fostering a positive, inclusive, and accountable culture.
  • Ensure exceptional guest experiences through consistent execution of hospitality and service standards.
  • Maintain excellence in cleanliness, food safety, product quality, and facility appearance.
  • Evaluate and streamline operational processes to improve efficiency and reduce unnecessary labor costs.
  • Implement systems and procedures that support long-term scalability and growth.

Financial Management
  • Maintain full P&L responsibility.
  • Analyze weekly and monthly sales, labor, food cost, and profitability reports.
  • Develop action plans to improve revenue, profitability, and operational performance.
  • Manage labor scheduling to maximize productivity while controlling payroll expenses.
  • Oversee inventory controls, purchasing, and waste reduction initiatives.
  • Monitor pricing strategies and product mix to ensure optimal margins.

Team Development
  • Recruit, hire, train, coach, and develop a high-performing team.
  • Build leadership succession plans and create opportunities for advancement.
  • Conduct regular performance evaluations and accountability discussions.
  • Foster a culture centered around hospitality, teamwork, professionalism, and continuous improvement.
  • Lead by example through active involvement in daily operations.

Business Development & Revenue Growth
  • Drive growth in catering, private events, birthday parties, community functions, and other revenue-generating opportunities.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with local schools, sports organizations, businesses, nonprofits, and community groups.
  • Identify new revenue streams and business opportunities.
  • Collaborate with ownership on marketing initiatives, promotions, and community outreach efforts.
  • Create strategies to increase guest frequency, retention, and overall brand awareness.

Vendor & Inventory Management
  • Manage vendor relationships and purchasing programs.
  • Negotiate pricing and service agreements when appropriate.
  • Ensure inventory controls and ordering systems are effectively managed.
  • Monitor product quality and vendor performance standards.

Community Engagement
  • Serve as the public face of the business within the local community.
  • Participate in networking opportunities, community events, and charitable initiatives.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with guests, residents, schools, and local organizations.
  • Strengthen the business's reputation as a trusted community destination.

Qualifications

Required
  • 5+ years of senior management experience within hospitality, restaurants, cafés, retail, or other customer-focused businesses.

  • Experience managing labor, scheduling, inventory, and operational budgets.
  • Proven ability to recruit, develop, and retain strong teams.
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong organizational and problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, guest-focused environment.

Preferred
  • Multi-unit management experience.
