Job Summary:PayPal's Corporate Tax Department is seeking a Manager of Global Income Tax Reporting to join its Global Income Tax Reporting Team. This position, reporting to the Director of Global Income Tax Reporting, will work collaboratively with other members of the team, as well as PayPal's broader tax department, Controllership, and FP&A teams, to prepare and review the company's global quarterly and annual income tax provision calculations and related disclosures, complete effective tax rate forecasting, and model effective tax rate impacts of proposed/enacted global tax legislation and business initiatives.
Job Description:Essential Responsibilities: - Oversee tax matters within subject matter expertise.
- Support audits and interactions with tax authorities.
- Partner with tax leadership to evaluate tax impacts of business initiatives.
- Mentor and train junior tax team members.
Minimum Qualifications:- 5+ years of relevant experience and a Bachelor's degree OR Any equivalent combination of education and experience.
Additional Responsibilities & Preferred Qualifications:Key responsibilities include hands on preparation and management of the following:
- Lead the preparation of the global income tax provision, including current and deferred taxes, quarterly AETR and discrete tax calculations, and GAAP and non-GAAP effective tax rates using OneSource Tax Provision.
- Prepare quarterly and annual SEC income tax footnote disclosures, journal entries and tax account reconciliations.
- Manage global tax accounting calculations including FIN 48 and IFRIC 23, and FAS 123R/ASC 718.
- Partner with Tax, Corporate Accounting, FP&A, Treasury, and local finance teams to gather data and consolidate foreign tax provision calculations under U.S. GAAP, including legal-entity pretax income forecasting.
- Prepare quarterly and long-term effective tax rate forecasts and model the impact of new accounting standards, proposed and enacted tax legislation, M&A activity, business initiatives, and internal restructurings.
- Ensure internal control and SOX requirements over the income tax function are properly performed and documented.
- Monitor developments related to ASC 740 and research complex income tax accounting matters.
- Support process improvement initiatives to enhance the efficiency, accuracy, and scalability of the global income tax reporting process.
Preferred Qualifications:
- BA/BS in Accounting or Finance equivalent; CPA; Masters in Taxation preferred
- 8+ years of progressive professional experience in ASC740 income tax accounting for publicly held multinational companies; Big 4 public accounting experience required with additional multi-national corporate tax department experience highly desired.
- Excellent tax accounting technical skills, analytical thinker, detail oriented
- Ability to collaborate as part of a team
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with ability to effectively relate tax accounting issues to non-tax provision personnel
- Resourcefulness and adaptability; self-motivated with ability to work in a fast-paced environment with excellent prioritization and organizational skills
- Experience with OneSource and SAP
- Work Permit and Relocation Prerequisites: Must already possess valid authorization to work in the country where the position is advertised/located. Relocation support will not be provided for this role.
