About the role:

As a Structural Design & Analysis (SDA) Manager, one leads and develops a team of engineers. This team is responsible for the general structural integrity of pressure boundary components and reactor vessel internal (RVI) components. Specifically, this includes ASME Section III stress and fatigue, and ASME Section XI flaw evaluations. The team's work focuses on Westinghouse and Combustion Engineering (CE) plant designs.

You will report to the Director, Reactor Component Engineering and be located at our Windsor, CT location and can work in a hybrid capacity.

The manager will directly manage the SDA engineering staff, encouraging technical growth, engagement, and accountability by the following:
  • Set performance expectations and provide ongoing coaching, feedback, and formal performance evaluations
  • Support career development through training plans, stretch assignments, and succession planning
  • Build a collaborative team culture that emphasises technical thoughtfulness, continuous improvement, and knowledge sharing
  • Manage hiring, onboarding, workload levelling, and retention of technical talent


Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead a team of engineers, including performance management, career development, and hiring

  • Oversee work planning, prioritisation, and resource management across inspection support and a variety of ageing management projects
  • Ensure, high-quality delivery of engineering work products with internal quality processes and industry standards
  • Provide management-level technical oversight
  • Promote continuous improvement, collaboration, and a safe and quality culture


Qualifications:
  • Minimum of a bachelor's degree in engineering; mechanical, materials, nuclear, or a related field
  • 8+ years of experience in nuclear plant engineering
  • Expertise as a people manager or team lead, with responsibility for performance management and staff development


We are committed to transparency and equity in all of our people practices. The base salary range for this position, which is dependent upon experience, qualifications and skills, is estimated to be 130,400 to 163,000 per year.
