Overview:As a Manager of Software Engineering reporting to the Sr Manager of Engineering, you'll lead multiple Agile teams to deliver high-quality software solutions. You'll own the technical design, drive execution from concept to post-launch, and ensure alignment with business goals and engineering best practices.
Key Responsibilities:- Lead and mentor cross-functional teams of developers
- Champion an AI-first culture, encouraging teams to rapidly innovate, experiment, and drive adoption of AI capabilities to enhance product performance and efficiency
- Drive end-to-end delivery of software projects using Agile methodologies
- Own technical design and architecture decisions in collaboration with stakeholders
- Ensure high-quality releases through strong process management and technical oversight
- Partner with product managers to align development with user needs and business priorities
- Continuously improve team performance, structure, and development practices
- Lead Operational Excellence efforts to improve our ability to support customer needs and avoid impact to patient outcomes
- Represent PointClickCare by developing and maintaining comprehensive knowledge of PointClickCare products, industry and technical trends, and general business and financial acumen through various sources and initiatives
- Communicate with customers in a compelling and articulate manner in both verbal and written conversations and presentations, demonstrating corporate core values and culture, developing professional and positive relationships with customers, and maintaining a reputation of competence, integrity and professionalism
What You Bring:- Proven experience leading software development teams and delivering enterprise applications
- Strong background in Java, Python, Spring, SQL, and web technologies
- Deep understanding of Agile practices and software development life cycle
- Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills
- Ability to drive results, manage complexity, and foster a high-performance culture
- Leveraging AI technologies and frameworks to deliver software solutions
Qualifications:- 5-10 years of software development experience with most recent experience as a Development Manager or Team Lead
- Solid experience with the software development life cycle (e.g., gathering requirements, analysis and design, development, release and version control, deployment management), including:
- Good experience with Agile development methodologies (or similar), Java SDK 1.5 or higher, and utilizing SQL (e.g., writing queries)
- Previous experience utilizing the following technologies/toolsets/applications:
- Java Web Applications, Servlets, Servlet Filters, JSP, JSTL, JDBC
- Spring Framework 3.x or higher, including Spring MVC
- Microsoft SQL Server
- Used HTML/CSS/JavaScript
- Web service platforms
- Utilizing Object Oriented Programming (OOP) principles
- Deep understanding of Enterprise Software Design
- Strong leadership skills - ability to lead by example, motivate others and continuously look for improvements in the work that you and your team performs
- Demonstrated troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
- Ability to collaborate with multiple internal teams and management
- Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills

$152,000 - $174,000 a year
At PointClickCare, base salary is one of the many components that make up our total rewards package. The CAD base salary range for this position is $152,000-174,000+ bonus + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by job and level. The range displayed on each job posting reflects the target for new hire salaries for the position across all CAD locations. Within the range, individual compensation is determined by job-related skills and knowledge, relevant experience including professional and lived experience, and/or work location.
