We are seeking an experienced Manager, Safety & Training to lead safety initiatives, training programs, regulatory compliance, and employee development for our Tucson operations. In this role, you'll partner with operations, maintenance, and leadership teams to create and sustain a strong culture of safety while ensuring compliance with all local, state, federal, and client requirements.

What You'll DoSafety Leadership & Compliance- Promote and maintain a positive, proactive safety culture across all departments
- Implement and support Safety Management System (SMS) initiatives and safety plans
- Manage corporate safety programs, incentives, and safety point administration
- Serve as the location Drug Program Manager, ensuring compliance with FTA and DOT regulations
- Monitor and manage FTA Drug and Alcohol Management Information System (DAMIS) reporting requirements
- Lead safety committees and SMS Ambassador programs
- Support workers' compensation and insurance claim management activities
- Ensure compliance with company, client, state, and federal safety regulations
- Coordinate and successfully complete company, client, and regulatory audits
Training & Employee Development- Deliver classroom, behind-the-wheel, and mobility management training
- Ensure all employees complete required safety and training programs
- Promote employee ownership and accountability for safety goals
- Verify that new hires meet all qualification requirements, including background and DMV checks
- Update safety manuals, policies, and procedures to reflect changing needs and regulations
- Support recruitment and selection of safety department personnel
Incident Management & Continuous Improvement- Investigate employee, passenger, and vehicle incidents
- Determine preventability, root causes, and corrective actions
- Identify trends and recommend proactive training solutions
- Collaborate with leadership to develop and present safety meetings and action plans
What We're Looking ForRequired Qualifications- High School Diploma or GED
- Bachelor's Degree in a related field or an equivalent combination of education and experience
- Minimum of five (5) years of transit or paratransit safety management experience
- Experience managing safety programs in a highly regulated environment
- Previous management experience in a union environment
- Strong knowledge of ADA, FTA, DOT, and transportation safety regulations
- Valid driver's license
- Ability to pass a pre-employment drug screen and DOT physical

CompensationSalary Range: $65,440 – $98,160 annually
Compensation is based on factors including experience, skills, education, certifications, and geographic market conditions.
