Job Summary and Qualifications

  • Assists in managing the Rehabilitation Therapy Department (PT, OT and ST) to achieve department goals.
  • Supervises employees, assists with schedules, technical procedures, quality assurance, staff development/education, and regulatory agency compliance.
  • Responsible for all departmental functions in support of the hospital mission, vision, and facility goals.
  • Identifies the cost-effective systems needed to support the business of the department taking into account business trends, resource availability and changes in customers.
  • Establishes effective working relationships with all constituencies including patients, physicians, employees, volunteers and vendors. • Identifies and remedies through continuous customer satisfaction data and employee involvement. •
  • Responsible for the hiring, termination, scheduling, counseling and evaluating therapy personnel. •
  • May have responsibility for the assessment, treatment and/or care of patients of all ages including neonatal, pediatric, adolescent, adult and geriatric. • Works with senior management in meeting facility goals and will be responsible to maintain the department in the AVP's absence. •
  • Promotes a positive working environment and motivates staff to perform to the best of their abilities.
  • May have other duties as assigned.


What qualifications you will need:

  • Bachelor's Degree required - Advanced degree preferred in associated discipline (PT, OT, ST) from approved school or MBA/MHA. • Five-years management experience in therapy field to include management of personnel, payroll, budgets, capital, business planning, marketing, physician relations and management of supervisory position is required
  • Basic Cardiac Life Support (BLS) must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date
  • Two years recent experience in specialty area, in an acute care environment is required
  • Physical Therapist strongly preferred
