Aspirus Wausau Hospital in Wausau, WI is seeking a MANAGER - QUALITY & PATIENT SAFETY to join our QUALITY SERVICES team!

The Manager of Quality and Patient Safety has direct responsibility for managing the implementation of the system performance improvement, patient safety, and risk management plan and the day-to-day operations of the quality function within their respective Business Unit(s). Leads and has accountability for the planning, developing, implementing, evaluating, and monitoring of improvement plans that are driven by patient safety and clinical quality performance and system objectives.

As a member of the leadership team, leads a multidisciplinary quality program (including clinical quality and patient safety, infection prevention and control, performance improvement, and regulatory compliance) in alignment with system and business unit(s) priorities.

Promotes an environment where all staff can flourish through professional development, improvement in workflow and workload, optimization of talent and resources, implementation and validation of best practices, consistent and clear communication including closed loop feedback, real time coaching, support of high reliability methods and tools, and creating opportunities for staff to have a voice in decisions that impact practices. Represents the quality function and perspective through involvement within business unit and system initiatives and committees.

Scope: Multiple business units within a region or division.

HOURS: Full-Time or 1.0 FTE, 80 hours every 2 weeks.

Experience/Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree required in nursing, engineering, healthcare administration, or care-related field.
  • Master's degree in nursing, healthcare administration, business administration, or similar preferred.
  • Certification in healthcare quality highly desired (CPHQ preferred).
  • Minimum five years healthcare experience required.
  • Minimum three years leadership/supervisory experience.
  • Annual competencies as required by Aspirus and/or various regulatory agencies based on entity and/or job position, or scope of services.
  • Demonstrates knowledge of healthcare operations and policy administration, as well as development and implementation of budgets, strategies, and standards.
  • Demonstrates leadership and complex organizational management skills.
  • Demonstrates ability to successfully work within a highly matrixed organization with a large geographic footprint.
  • Demonstrates honesty, integrity, and follow through on commitments. Ability to manage different perspectives and find win-win solutions.
