Full Job Description
Manager, Process Management - Upmarket Acquisitions

The Upmarket Card Line of Business is looking for a Process Manager to lead credit policy implementation for the Upmarket Acquisitions credit program. Upmarket Card Acquisitions is one of Capital One's largest, most complex and strategically important portfolios. The credit policy team drives credit policy strategy and implementation across all core acquisitions portfolios in upmarket: Venture, Teaser, VentureX, and Good Credit Product. The credit policy team is the operational center of gravity for this work and owns execution intent across channels and marketing, product strategy, credit policy and Venture X / top of the market.


In this role, you will own the full lifecycle of credit intent execution, from managing intent calendars to ensuring timely and quality delivery of high-priority initiatives. You will serve as the primary coordination layer between Intent Owners and key partner teams, keeping dependencies clear and timelines on track. You will also own audit-readiness and issue resolution across the team, and lead delivery of key monitoring events and activities for the program including quarterly program monitoring, credit program assessment,  and program approval.

This role is ideal for someone who brings energy to building order out of complexity. You find white space and turn it into opportunity. Experience in process, project, or program management partnering with credit card analytics and credit risk teams in a financial services environment is preferred.

General Responsibilities:

  • Drive projects based on defined priorities; ensure scope of deliverables, timelines and budget are met; identify risks and issues and mitigate and / or escalate as needed

  • Plan, design, manage, and execute project plans to ensure delivery. This activity includes management through feasibility, design, planning and implementation

  • Leverage problem solving skills to ensure project plans deliver on intent and maintain key project documentation

  • Partner with project customers to provide strategic and tactical thought partnership to effectively drive project delivery

  • Forge relationships with key stakeholders to ensure delivery of commitments

  • Identify ways to improve and streamline business process

  • Exhibit a proven track record of project management, bringing the ability to quickly put structure in place to manage the work

  • Demonstrate outstanding communication and partnership skills which are essential for interacting and communicating with key stakeholders across all levels to manage, inform, and influence outcomes

  • Manage and achieve results with complex projects

  • Demonstrate organizational agility to adapt to changing demands

  • Display strong consulting and collaboration skills

  • Translate credit intent to in-market policy by writing the code in Ruleslab, backtesting the results in enterprise model platform to ensure no I=E errors, and adhering to post-implementation monitoring procedures following release

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree or military experience

  • At least 4 years of experience in Process Management, Project Management, Relationship Management, or Risk Management 

  • At least 1 year of experience in Microsoft Office or G Suite 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master’s Degree

  • 5+ years of experience in Process Management, Project Management, Relationship Management, or Risk Management 

  • PMP, Lean, Agile or Six Sigma certification

  • Strong communication and collaboration skills

  • 3+ years of experience in analysis 

  • 2+ years of experience in financial services 

  • 1+ year of experience in consulting

The minimum and maximum full-time annual salaries for this role are listed below, by location. Please note that this salary information is solely for candidates hired to perform work within one of these locations, and refers to the amount Capital One is willing to pay at the time of this posting. Salaries for part-time roles will be prorated based upon the agreed upon number of hours to be regularly worked.

Candidates hired to work in other locations will be subject to the pay range associated with that location, and the actual annualized salary amount offered to any candidate at the time of hire will be reflected solely in the candidate’s offer letter.

This role is also eligible to earn performance based incentive compensation, which may include cash bonus(es) and/or long term incentives (LTI). Incentives could be discretionary or non discretionary depending on the plan.
