Description

A member of the People and Culture department, this position performs para-professional/ technical work in various program areas such as recruitment, employee relations, onboarding/offboarding, benefit administration, and leave of absence administration. The People and Culture Manager also develops and drives creative People focused initiatives and activities and serves as a liaison between the department and members of the Lyons Magnus management team.

Pay Range: $130,000-$160,000 + Bonus

Hours: 8:00 AM-5:00 PM

Schedule: Monday-Friday

Location: Fresno, CA

Travel Requirements: 10%

Work Environment: In-office

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Compliance: Ensure compliance with company policies, including pre-employment processes, hiring, training, and payroll practices in accordance with legal guidelines.
  • Recruitment & Onboarding : Develop and oversee new hire orientation and onboarding efforts. This includes identifying staff vacancies, oversee job announcements, coordinating interviews with Talent Acquisition and Growth team, conducting phone and in-person interviews, extending job offers, coordinate pre-employment process, and facilitate new employee orientation and training.
  • Benefits Administration: Administer all tasks related to benefits, including but not limited to open enrollment, qualifying events, reconciliation of invoices, and inputting payroll with deductions (child support, levy's, garnishments, etc.)
  • Leave of Absence Administration: Administer leave of absences in accordance with Federal and State employment laws. This includes but is not limited to engaging in the interactive process, providing employees with designation letters and notice of rights and responsibility, tracking medical certifications, and communicating with supervisors regarding return-to-work dates and accommodations.
  • Employee Relations : Assist with investigating a variety of employee-related issues, incidents and complaints; resolve disputes and recommend appropriate/remedial actions. Assist in the employee termination process (including but not limited to coordinating final paycheck, performing exit interviews, and completing exit paperwork).
  • Employee Files & Reporting: Maintains and updates employee information. Prepare reports as designated by the People and Culture leadership. Complies and analyze data for accurate and objective measurements of performance.
  • Employee Recognition: Promotes a fun and engaging employee environment. Helps to plan and coordinate employee recognition events, including but not limited to employee lunches and retirement celebrations.
  • Payroll: Assist with payroll processing, processing variances, inputting deductions (including but not limited to child support, levy, garnishments, etc.) and provide backup to payroll as needed.
  • Maintains and updates employee information: Prepare reports as designated by the People and Culture leadership. Complies and analyze data for accurate and objective measurements of performance.
  • General Administrative Duties: Create/track badges for new hires, visitors, client/vendors. Order employee uniforms. Maintain conference room availability. Maintain office and breakroom supplies.
  • Safety: Support the Safety department as an onsite liaison for paperwork and training.
  • Performs other duties as reasonably assigned.


Requirements

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
  • Must be able to exhibit discretion while working with confidential and sensitive information
  • Familiar with applicable federal, state and local laws and regulations.
  • Understanding, interpreting and applying rules, regulations, policies, laws and ordinances.
  • Standard office practices and procedures, including Microsoft Office Suite, databases, HRIS software, filing systems and records management.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and discretion.
  • Develop and maintain effective interpersonal relationships.
  • Use good judgement and integrity.


Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited four-year university in Human Resources Management or a related field.


Preferred Qualifications
  • 1-3 years of experience in human resources or risk management support work.
  • HR certification through HRCI or SHRM.
