Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with operational leaders to provide detailed financial insights and strategic recommendations.
  • Manage multiple projects effectively, prioritizing tasks based on business needs.
  • Assist with month-end journal entries and reconcile financial data.
  • Support budget preparations for different departments.

Description

The Manager of Finance supports budgeting, financial planning, forecasting, reporting, and operational analysis across Pebble Beach Company's diverse resort operations. Working closely with the Director of Finance and operational leaders, this role provides financial insights that support strategic and operational decision-making.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
  • Review monthly financial performance of multiple resort departments (F&B, rooms, golf, retail, real estate, sales, etc.) and assist operations in analyzing data.
  • Develop and maintain financial models, reporting schedules, and management reports using Microsoft Dynamics, Excel, and other tools to support scenario analysis and business decision-making.
  • Understand and evaluate financial processes and data flows from transaction initiation through general ledger and departmental profit-and-loss reporting.
  • Prepare, review, and distribute accurate daily, weekly, monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports.
  • Prepare Company level weekly revenue estimates and analyze actual performance against budget, forecast, and prior year.
  • Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual census reports for the US Census Bureau.
  • Partner with operational leaders to develop well-supported financial analyses and communicate conclusions, risks, and recommendations to leadership.
  • Manage multiple concurrent projects, effectively prioritizing assignments based on business needs and leadership direction.
  • Complete various month-end journal entries and reconciliations.
  • Assist in the preparation of budgets for various departments.
  • Assist in analyzing new business opportunities and proposed future ventures as they become known.
  • Special event participation including cash handling, supervision of temporary employees (time/attendance and alcohol rules compliance), etc.
  • Manage, coach, and develop the Finance Analyst/Associate, including work prioritization, quality review, and professional development.
  • Other duties as assigned by manager.


Desired Skills:
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field required.
  • 2-5 years of experience in finance and accounting (hospitality industry a plus).
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills with a high degree of accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to clearly present financial information and conclusions.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, including advanced Excel skills.
  • Ability to quickly learn and utilize accounting, budgeting, reporting, and operations systems including SMS (Springer Miller), InfoGenesis, Amadeus/Salesforce, and DataVision.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to work weekends when required.
  • Comply with all Pebble Beach Company safety and health policies and procedures.
