ABOUT THE JOB

Anduril's Air Dominance & Strike (AD&S) Manufacturing Engineering team is seeking a Manager of Manufacturing Test Engineering to lead a multi-disciplinary test engineering team supporting our full portfolio of autonomous aircraft, cruise missiles, and loitering munitions. This is a critical leadership role responsible for ensuring that every product we ship has been rigorously tested, validated, and accepted through production-grade test systems that scale with our programs.

You will manage a team of approximately 16 engineers spanning firmware, hardware, software, electrical, and data acquisition disciplines. Your team designs, develops, deploys, and maintains the test systems, fixtures, and automation that production depends on - from board-level functional test through full system acceptance. This is an inherently cross-functional role: you will work daily with design engineering, quality, operations, supply chain, and program teams to ensure test capability keeps pace with development timelines and production rate demands.

The right leader for this role combines deep technical credibility in test engineering with the ability to build, develop, and retain a high-performing team across multiple disciplines. You will set the technical direction for test strategy across AD&S, drive standardization where it makes sense, and give your team the space and support to solve hard problems.

WHAT YOU'LL DO

• Lead and manage a team of ~16 manufacturing test engineers across firmware, hardware, software, electrical, and data acquisition disciplines, setting goals, providing direction, and developing careers.
• Own the manufacturing test strategy across AD&S programs - from board-level PCBA test through subsystem, integration, and full system acceptance testing.
• Drive the development and deployment of production test systems, fixtures, and automation that meet throughput, reliability, and quality requirements at rate.
• Work cross-functionally with design engineering, quality, operations, supply chain, and program management on a daily basis to align test capability with product development timelines and production schedules.
• Collaborate with design engineering teams early in the development cycle to influence testability requirements, test point access, boundary scan architecture, and built-in test capability.
• Establish and maintain test engineering standards, processes, and documentation - including test procedures, acceptance criteria, failure analysis workflows, and data management practices.
• Drive test automation strategy to increase throughput, reduce operator dependency, and improve test coverage and repeatability.
• Partner with quality engineering to ensure test processes support first-pass yield goals, defect containment, and root cause investigation.
• Manage the test equipment roadmap - selection, procurement, qualification, calibration, and lifecycle management of test assets across production sites.
• Build and maintain robust data acquisition and analysis capabilities that enable data-driven decisions on product quality and process performance.
• Support the transfer of test capability to new production sites, ensuring test systems, documentation, and training are production-ready at each location.
• Foster a culture of technical excellence, accountability, and continuous improvement within the test engineering team.
• Manage budgets and forecast future test engineering needs, including personnel, equipment, and infrastructure.
• Serve as the escalation point for complex test failures, anomalies, and production-blocking issues requiring cross-functional resolution.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or a related field.
• 6+ years of experience in test engineering, manufacturing engineering, or a related discipline, with at least 2 years in a leadership or management role.
• Demonstrated ability to lead and develop a multi-disciplinary engineering team across hardware, software, firmware, and electrical test domains.
• Strong technical foundation in production test system design, development, and deployment for electronics and electromechanical products.
• Experience with test automation frameworks, test executive software (LabVIEW, TestStand, Python-based, or similar), and data acquisition systems.
• Proven ability to work cross-functionally across design engineering, quality, supply chain, and operations - and to drive alignment without positional authority over those teams.
• Understanding of test strategies across the product lifecycle: design verification, production screening, acceptance testing, and field return analysis.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to drive root cause analysis and corrective action on complex test failures.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively at all levels of the organization from technicians to executives.
• Experience managing budgets, equipment procurement, and vendor relationships for test engineering programs.
• Comfortable managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced, high-growth environment across several concurrent programs.
• Personal experience with hands-on test development, debug, or troubleshooting of electronic systems. Technical credibility with the team matters.
• Must be a U.S. Person due to required access to U.S. export controlled information or facilities.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

• Master's degree in engineering or a related field.
• Experience in aerospace or defense production test environments, particularly with qualified or flight-critical hardware.
• Familiarity with AS9100/AS9102 quality management systems and their implications for test process control.
• Experience standing up test capabilities at new production sites or scaling test infrastructure for rate production.
• Background in boundary scan (JTAG), in-circuit test (ICT), functional test, environmental stress screening (ESS), or system-level acceptance test.
• Experience with test data analytics, statistical process control, or automated reporting pipelines.
• Knowledge of configuration management and version control practices for test software and firmware.
• Appropriate clearance classification.

US Salary Range

$146,000-$194,000 USD

The salary range for this role is an estimate based on a wide range of compensation factors, inclusive of base salary only. Actual salary offer may vary based on (but not limited to) work experience, education and/or training, critical skills, and/or business considerations.
