Full Job Description
Position Overview:

The Maintenance Manager will report directly to the General Manager and will direct contractors, maintenance and engineering team members, and others in the planning execution of capital projects and related activities, to support 24-hour manufacturing operations. The Maintenance manager will also intersect with all members of management and Cor4porate Engineering to ensure effective communications to support the performance of this function.

Specific Responsibilities:

Specific primary responsibilities are defined by the following, but not limited to:

Safety:
  • Ensures compliance of plant-wide programs including, but not limited to:
    • Mobile equipment
    • Crane safety
    • Arc flash (70E)
    • Fire protection and safety
  • Ensures personal compliance with safety policies and rules, including PPE requirements
  • Ensures personal compliance with applicable regulatory standards (safety, environmental, health), reporting any issues not immediately resolvable to appropriate manager
  • Participates in incident and/or accident investigations as requested

Operational:
  • Develops, implements, and maintains capital investment and automation strategies, programs and projects.
  • Identifies and implements process, equipment and functional improvements to achieve excellence, and maintain NADCAP and other certifications.
  • Champions the sharing and leveraging of initiatives, processes, and accomplishments across the plant.
  • Monitoring and control of capital spending.
  • Project plan development including scope, schedule, budget estimate, and risk identification.
  • Responsible for the direct supervision of maintenance supervisors and automation engineers, including maintenance processes, and procedures, new installation and equipment improvements.
  • Hands on trouble shooting of complex integrated electrical, mechanical, and hydraulic equipment.
  • Responsible to prepare and submit the annual operating budget for maintenance activities, equipment and building requirements.
  • Responsible for insuring the highest level of staff training to support the operating plans.
  • Responsible for the safety and maintenance employees and ensuring that all production equipment is in safe operating condition in conjunction with the safety committee and the company safety representative.
  • Ensures compliance of all safety requirements by maintenance employees during outage including but not limited to:
    • Crane, fork truck and rigging safety
    • Fire protection, not work, 70E
    • General safety/environmental required activities
    • LOTO
    • PPE and PAPR use
    • First aid/CRP/AED training
  • Ensure maintenance personnel are following good housekeeping duties
  • Provides leadership, coaching and direction to maintenance technicians in all aspects of their work
  • Provides expertise in the principles of root cause analysis (RCA) and Reliability Centered Maintenance to create an environment of continuous asset reliability improvement
  • Maintains and ensure the integrity of the CMMS system
  • Established maintenance metrics to drive performance
  • Establishes and maintains continuous improvement efforts for troubleshooting skills for maintenance group
  • Sustain NADCAP Certifications and compliances

Education and Experience:

Physical and Other Requirements:

Ability to safety move around in a plant environment, including but not limited to:
  • Walking, standing, bending, lifting 50 lbs.
  • Ability t0 stand, bend or sit for long periods of time.
