Responsibilities

  • Lead shipment visibility and improvements across all logistics modes globally.

Full Job Description
Specific Responsibilities Would Include

POSITION SUMMARY

This position will lead shipment visibility and continuous/improvement movements globally across all modes for Centric Brands. They will lead carrier relations supporting Booking Agent, Consolidations, while overseeing performance levels for our carrier base across all modes. Will lead transit time performance measurements, improvements, ensure information in systems/platforms is complete, timely and accurate with exceptional levels of performance. Will ensure proper build out of Standard Operating Procedures ensuring best in class support across all modes/facets of our logistics department. Will act as lead support on key initiatives and project management across logistics (new platforms, provider implementations etc. An ideal candidate will approach their work with determination, and be innovative, highly influential, gets things done, and able to steer through ambiguity while providing balanced decision-making by assessing tradeoffs. They are passionate about solving complex problems in a high-growth environment, with a mindset for building durable solutions to problems at scale. Candidates will be able to demonstrate excellence, possess the ability to learn quickly and strive for perfection within a fast-paced environment and will have spent considerable time in logistics project management and launching of new carriers, projects, providers, visibility platforms, and consolidators.

 

Key Responsibilities:

 

Visibility

  • Leads visibility, booking agents, and consolidation providers, in their SOP/SOW development, KPI performance and management seeking to improve current state operations and cost management
  • Enhance dashboard creation including but not limited to extension of exception Oversees the origin consolidation providers costs, performance supporting RFQ’s and competitive pricing, service along with strong KPI and SOP adherence/performance levels
  • Identify, develop, implement, and enhance shipping visibility tools/reports/dashboards in total and within Infor Nexus to proactively manage and improve the logistics network
  • Manages origin booking agents, their KPI’s are being met as well as standards of completeness, accurate and timely data are maintained, including exceptions being built out within Infor
  • Research and implement new tools to aid in resolving complex and routine process issues while fostering a culture of continuous improvement

Operations

  • Support Ocean and Air Carrier development and performance with data including scorecarding at detailed lane level performances with exception tracking bucketized into impact windows to support and drive improvements
  • Develop/propose/ execute transportation allocation and capacity strategies and develop contingency plans to cost-effectively support varying levels of company sales and changes to supply/demand patterns as well as market volatility
  • Supports negotiation of rates and contracts and relationship management with ocean, and air carrier relationships
  • Oversees lead times performance, tracking and updating of systems to ensure most reliable carriers are used/assigned lanes as well as proper lead times established/managed within our systems/tools
  • Maintain current pricing levels of NVO Ocean/Air markets to understand available options for further cost reduction to use and or leverage with existing relationships
  • Acts as departments lead Project Manager on key initiatives as requested
  • Develop, support, sell and drive the shift of volume to alternative methods of distribution (Air to Ocean, DC Bypass, Transload, etc...)

 

Day to Day Operations

  • Manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment with effective communication and thorough follow through
  • Will partner with our logistic teams to ensure carriers are addressing issues timely as well as performing at required levels (booking release, timely movement, complete visibility).
  • Track/Trace/Troubleshoot/Assist/Resolve ocean and air shipments transit issues/delays and questions as they arise (root causing issues developing corrections)
  • Develop, manage, utilize, and employ key performance indicators (KPIs), metrics and reporting to help drive execution, accountability and process uniformity and compliance across all divisions, regions, with all transportation providers and vendors
  • Owns the transit time performance, models, and updates to ensure we have the most accurate data and best performance available
  • Own the carrier relationships domestically within US to ensure KPI’s, volume, transit and service level components are each being managed to highest of standards
  • Ensures carrier’s milestones are provided timely and accurate
  • Lead weekly Carrier calls reviewing items including performance, open items, delayed shipments, pending bookings, mqc performance and future forecasts.
  • Ensures timely movement in/through our CFS/CY locations across the globe, at the threshold of container utilizations with the correct carriers and strings being utilized
  • Establish and maintain effective communications with all internal/external production, supply chain and vendor groups (transportation, custom brokers, customers and suppliers)
  • Facilitates, creates and oversees reports to supply visibility to Production, Sales and Executive Management within the logistics functions
  • Develop robust, trusting relationships and positive experiences with and for internal customers and partners on all logistic items, capabilities, and service standards
  • Participate in off hour origin, forwarder and vendor calls when needed
  • Other items as needed by leadership including but not limited to various ad hoc analysis
Our Best Fit Candidate Would Have
  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management or a related field required; or an equivalent combination of education and 6+ years of relevant experience, including 2+ years of supervisory experience.
  • Strong analytical skills and a data-driven mindset, with the ability to gather, analyze, visualize, and interpret data at a granular level to develop, recommend, and implement effective solutions.
  • Proven experience monitoring and auditing performance, managing execution against commitments, and proactively implementing preventive and corrective actions.
  • Strong experience operationally leading international service providers and negotiating costs, with demonstrated success developing processes, SOPs, and Statements of Work (SOWs), while holding service providers accountable to business needs and KPIs.
  • Project management experience with Lean or Six Sigma methodologies highly valued, including experience with process mapping and process redesign.
  • Proven ability to successfully lead and develop others, both directly and indirectly, while fostering accountability and achieving business objectives.
  • Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Word) and data visualization tools/dashboard development, such as Power BI.
  • Able to hit the ground running as a confident, entrepreneurial self-starter with the ability to manage and prioritize multiple projects, make sound decisions, and delegate tasks effectively.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to effectively engage and influence stakeholders at all levels of the organization; clear, concise messaging and presentation skills are required.
  • Knowledge of SAP systems preferred.
  • Ability and willingness to travel as needed.

Salary Range: $90,000 - $100,000
