Job Description:The Product Owner for Wire Payments is accountable to lead the modernization and maintenance of the bank's high-value payment rails (Fedwire, SWIFT, CHIPS, Lynx). Your goal is to maximize Straight-Through Processing rates, while navigating the complexity of mandatory regulatory upgrade and cross-boarder data standards.
Operating in Agile routines, the Product Owner will align with senior management to follow a product vision, creating and maintaining a prioritized product backlog, managing delivery blockers, continuously assessing customer feedback. The Product Owner I should always be considering how to maximize value, assessing how the product or the delivery process can be continuously improved, contributes to a positive work environment and ensures that work embodies the Agile principles of transparency, collaboration and engagement.
Job Description:- Wires Modernization - lead the migration to a new wires engine and decoupling rails into scalable, independent services, "Mainframe Monoliths" to microservices
- Backlog prioritization - manage the lifecycle of a payment feature, from initiation and validation to clearing and final settlement
- Regulatory and sanctions compliance - partner with Risk and Anti-Money Laundering teams to integrate real-time screening into payment flow without compromising latency
- Resilience and scalability - define requirements for high-availability systems capable of processing trillions of dollar in daily volume, with 99.9999% uptime
- Data lineage and reporting - ensure all payment data is captured for mandatory regulatory reporting and internal liquidity management
- Technical and domain expertise:
- Deep expertise in Fedwire, SWIFT and CHIPS
- Transitioning from legacy MT to ISO 20022 schemas
- Understanding of real-time gross settlement and net settlement cycles
- Practical application of Travel Rule requirements and Anti-Money Laundering triggers
- Experience with APIs and Cloud-native payment engines
Required Qualifications & Experience:- Undergraduate degree and / or product certificate
- 7+ years relevant experience
- 3+ years Product Owner or Agile related delivery experience
- Expertise in Fedwire, SWIFT and CHIPS
Nice to Have:
- Data-driven intelligent payments - ISO 20022 data monetization , AI driven fraud detection, predictive liquidity analytics
- Emerging stands & future tech - such as Central Bank Digital Currency, Reatil-Time Rail
- Experience in G-SIB - navigating hybrid structure to balance waterfall style executive oversight with agile ways of working for teams
- Advanced microservice and cloud patterns - understanding service mesh, chaos engineering, event sourcing
- Certified Scrum Product Owner (CSPO) certification and project management experience considered an asset
- Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe) certifications or experience operating in scaled agile delivery considered an asset
