Job Overview

We are seeking a forward-thinking and collaborative Manufacturing Engineering Manager to lead the engineering function at our manufacturing facility. This critical leadership position is responsible for the development, support, and continuous improvement of manufacturing processes, equipment, and systems that drive operational excellence.

The Manufacturing Engineering Manager will develop and execute strategic manufacturing initiatives, lead capital investment projects, and manage a team of engineers focused on improving safety, quality, productivity, and cost performance. This role plays a key part in optimizing manufacturing processes, increasing equipment reliability, reducing downtime, and supporting long-term business objectives.

Success in this position requires a hands-on leadership approach and close partnership with Production, Maintenance, Quality, EHS, Supply Chain, and other cross-functional teams to identify opportunities, solve complex operational challenges, and deliver sustainable plant-wide improvements.

Tasks Summary & Responsibilities
  • Lead and develop the manufacturing engineering team, fostering a culture of accountability, innovation, and continuous improvement.
  • Drive process optimization initiatives focused on safety, quality, productivity, capacity, and cost reduction.
  • Develop and execute manufacturing strategies aligned with business goals and operational objectives.
  • Identify, prioritize, and lead capital projects from concept through implementation, ensuring projects are delivered safely, on time, and within budget.
  • Collaborate with production and maintenance teams to improve equipment reliability, reduce downtime, and enhance overall equipment effectiveness (OEE).
  • Support troubleshooting and root cause analysis efforts for manufacturing, equipment, and process-related issues.
  • Partner with Quality and EHS teams to ensure compliance with all regulatory, safety, and quality requirements.
  • Lead continuous improvement activities utilizing Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, and other operational excellence methodologies.
  • Develop and maintain manufacturing standards, procedures, and best practices.
  • Evaluate and implement new technologies, automation solutions, and process improvements to enhance operational performance.
  • Manage departmental budgets, engineering resources, and project priorities.


What your background should look like

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, or appropriate field
  • Minimum of 7 years of related experience with a bachelor's degree; or 5 years and a master's degree; or a PhD with 2 years' experience; or equivalent experience.
  • Progressive manufacturing engineering and leadership experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Generally, has a minimum of 2 years of progressive people management experience
  • Strong background in process improvement, capital project management, and equipment optimization.
  • Proven ability to lead cross-functional teams and drive organizational change.
  • Experience with Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, TPM, and continuous improvement methodologies.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and project management skills.
  • Excellent communication and leadership abilities with a collaborative, team-oriented approach.

COMPENSATION
• Competitive base salary commensurate with experience: $120,000 - 150,700 (subject to change dependent on physical location)
• Posted salary ranges are made in good faith. TE Connectivity reserves the right to adjust ranges depending on the experience/qualification of the selected candidate as well as internal and external equity.
• Total Compensation = Base Salary + Incentive(s) + Benefits
