Kleysen is seeking a
Health &Safety Manager to facilitate and collaborate as part of the leadership team our Yard, Trucking & Rail safety programs in Alberta. The position will be based in Edmonton and supervise a team of safety professionals in Calgary & in Edmonton.
In this role, you will identify, develop, and implement Health & Safety programs that increase health and safety in Alberta operations by maximizing compliance with industry standards and government regulations, and working closely with our Safety team in Winnipeg to create a Kleysen Safety 1st culture in all our locations. This role reports to the Director, Health, Safety, & Driver Services in Winnipeg.
The ideal candidate will have a good understanding of rail, liquid handling & transloading with a solution orientated and hands on approach in working alongside the Operations team & the Business Unit Leader in:
- Creating effective safe workplace procedures & best practices.
- Leading development of safety systems, policies & training & competency assessments.
- Conducting & overseeing safety inspections, audits, etc.
- Leading and/or overseeing hazard analysis, risk assessments and incident investigations.
- Collaborating with Operations management in developing and implementing safety policies and programs.
- Supporting disability & return to work programs.
- Identifying opportunities to support & enhance Safety 1st culture.
- Communicating & reporting on safety metrics to leadership & employees.

Qualifications:
- Progressive health, safety experience within the liquid handling & product transloading and/or transportation industry.[TS1]
- Post-secondary education in health, safety, and environmental management. CRSP designation is a definite asset.
- Proven experience developing and leading safety and health programs, including procedures, training, audits, and inspections.
- Working knowledge of federal safety and environmental regulations.
- Confident communication, conflict management, and problem-solving skills.
