Manager, GPO Delivery and Optimization
What you will be doing:
The Manager Delivery and Optimization owns GPO contract delivery for an assigned portfolio of member accounts — from activation through renewal. This is an execution role: build the plan, run it, and drive it to a result. The Manager Delivery and Optimization leverages data and Premier's technology to tell a clear story about value, manages contract performance to ensure members actually realize it, and operates as a self-starter who figures out how to solve problems without being told how.
Key Responsibilities
Delivery Execution and Value Creation – 50%
- Leads execution of the account workplan and manages assigned programs independently once scoped
- Owns the GPO portfolio lifecycle: tier activation and timing, renewals/expirations, distributor contract audits, roster accuracy, and admin fee revenue accuracy
- Coordinates cross-functionally with GPO contracting, portfolio SMEs, and analytics teams to remove blockers and keep delivery on track
- Owns the account's project plan, timeline, and RACI; escalates and resolves issues before they become problems
- Executes contract activations, amendments, and renewals directly with distributors and suppliers; drives category adoption conversations to a decision
- Manages contract performance across the account's category portfolio, ensuring optimal utilization and value realization
- Leverages data analysis — through Premier's technology, AI, and Power BI tools and partnerships with Premier's analytics teams — to synthesize findings into recommendations that drive measurable value
- Employs analytical storytelling to translate data into a clear, member-facing narrative that drives action
- Develops the account's annual growth forecast and contributes to the business review process, in partnership with their manager or COE Coach
- Executes toward KPIs and targets set by SCO/GPO Ops leadership — contract growth, penetration, and member savings/value
- Aligns with internal partners — Rx, Food, and Portfolio Advisors — on execution of the account's category strategy
- Assures a regular cadence of complete member data submissions (PO, invoice, AP, capital plans, and other required data types) to support accurate analytics and GPO growth/penetration tracking
- Leverages contract analytics from the MVE and other Premier analytics resources to help members model contracting scenarios — costs, behaviors, market share, and lower-cost alternatives
Supply Chain Relationship Management – 35%
- Provides day-to-day guidance to member stakeholders as a trusted advisor
- Builds a working understanding of each member's goals (savings targets, budget gaps, new service line launches), current capabilities, and pressure points — and shapes engagement around what that specific member needs, not a generic playbook
- Acts as the account's GPO quarterback when no other dedicated GPO team resources are assigned to the account, coordinating all GPO-related activity on the member's behalf
- Responsible for aligning supply chain and pharmacy goals between the member and Premier, and proactively driving activities toward the accomplishment of those goals
Member Resolution – 15%
- Operates as a self-starter; applies critical thinking to solve ambiguous problems and unblock execution without waiting to be told how
