Job DescriptionTechnology Procurement Manager supports the Global Procurement team in executing sourcing initiatives and managing Technology spend categories across VERSANT's global operations.
This role is a key member of the Global Enterprise Procurement team and will play an important part in building and maturing a centralized, strategic procurement function during a period of transformation and growth. The Manager will help shape category strategies, lead defined sourcing workstreams, and partner directly with Operations and Technology Team, and other business stakeholders to influence technology spend decisions, strengthen supplier governance, and deliver commercial value, cost optimization, and risk management. Reporting to the Vice President, Global Technology Strategic Procurement, this role offers meaningful opportunities for growth and expanded responsibility as the Global Enterprise Procurement function continues to evolve and mature.
The ideal candidate will have experience sourcing across technology categories, including software/SaaS, hardware, cloud, data, cybersecurity, and professional services. They will be skilled in developing and executing commercial and sourcing strategies across the full procurement lifecycle-including business and technical requirements gathering, supplier selection, due diligence, risk and compliance assessments, contract development and negotiation, commercial structuring, and managing strategic supplier relationships.
Key Responsibilities- Serve as a strategic advisor to business and technology leaders, shaping technology investment, supplier, and operating-model decisions that align with enterprise priorities and deliver measurable business value.
- Lead end-to-end strategic sourcing initiatives across technology categories, including software/SaaS, cloud, data and analytics, cybersecurity, hardware, telecommunications, and technology professional services.
- Partner with Legal, Finance, Information Security, Privacy, Compliance, and Technology teams to resolve complex commercial and risk issues and drive timely, informed decisions.
- Develop and execute competitive sourcing events, including RFIs, RFPs, RFQs, and supplier evaluations, to identify the best-fit solution and commercial model.
- Lead complex commercial negotiations covering pricing, payment terms, service levels, implementation commitments, renewals, price protections, flexibility, audit rights, liability, termination, and other risk-mitigation provisions.
- Build total-cost-of-ownership analyses, business cases, savings models, and executive recommendations that support informed supplier and investment decisions.
- Conduct supplier due diligence and coordinate risk, security, privacy, legal, financial, and compliance assessments before contract execution.
- Draft, negotiate, and manage technology agreements, including master services agreements, subscription/order forms, statements of work, amendments, and professional services agreements.
- Identify and deliver cost savings, cost avoidance, commercial improvements, and operational efficiencies while balancing business outcomes, speed, risk, and long-term value.
- Maintain accurate sourcing, contract, supplier, spend, and savings documentation; provide clear status updates and report to leadership.
- Help evolve procurement processes, tools, policies, and supplier governance practices to strengthen the function's role as a strategic business partner.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
QualificationsQualifications- Bachelor's degree in business, Supply Chain, Finance, Information Technology, or a related field; advanced degree or professional certification is a plus.
- 5+ years of directly relevant experience in strategic sourcing, procurement, or vendor management, including demonstrated responsibility for technology categories.
- Demonstrated experience leading complex sourcing initiatives and commercial negotiations for software/SaaS, cloud, data, cybersecurity, hardware, telecommunications, and/or technology professional services.
- Strong commercial, financial, and analytical skills, with the ability to evaluate total cost of ownership, develop business cases, assess supplier proposals, and articulate meaningful tradeoffs.
- Experience participating in supplier negotiations and commercial evaluations.
- Demonstrated ability to operate independently, manage multiple priorities, and deliver results in a fast-paced, evolving environment.
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to develop productive relationships with internal stakeholders and external suppliers.
Hybrid: This position has been designated as hybrid and is generally expected to work from the Englewood Cliffs, NJ office a minimum of three days per week.

Salary range: $90,000 - $120,000 (bonus eligible)
