Dream is looking for a Manager, Fund AccountingThis role will report to the Chief Financial Officer and will be responsible for the preparation and review of private equity fund valuations, including portfolio valuation, fee computation, various accruals, income allocations and returns calculations. In addition, the individual will be involved in the preparation and review of the annual audit reports, act as a direct liaison with the fund managers, auditors, and other related parties.
What will you do? - Manage the fund's shadow records
- Review the external administrator's NAV packages
- Have a solid understanding of the fund accounts and balances
- Work with the portfolio team in preparing the quarterly reporting packages and marketing decks
- Knowledgeable in different return calculations in accordance with NCREIF standards and US-SEC requirements
- Knowledgeable in interpreting fund documents
- Ensure timely and accurate response to client, external audit and internal inquiries
- Manage the US tax reporting done by tax accountants
- Obtain and review on an annual basis SOC Report (Service Organization Controls) report to ensure fund administrator's controls are effective
- Assist with new client onboarding and new fund launches to ensure successful completion
- Assist staff with their monthly work as the need arises
- Assist with ad hoc projects
What type of skills and experience is required?These are some of the things we would like you to bring to the table:
- University degree in accounting, finance, economics; and professional designation (CGA, CMA, CA, CPA, CFA)
- 5+ Years of fund accounting experience
- Experience in open-ended private real estate and credit funds, NCREIF and ILPA reporting are preferred
- Background in accounting for various types of entities including private equity funds and hedge funds (UPREIT and Master-Feeder Structures) is desirable
- Ability to excel in a fast paced, entrepreneurial environment
- Strong communication skills, organizational skills, and attention to details
- Microsoft Excel proficient (V-Lookups, Pivot Tables, SumIfs, Data Tables, etc.)
- Excellent attention to detail and ability to identify issues of potential risk
This is a regular, full-time position with a base salary range of $105,000 - $115,000. Compensation is determined based on several factors, including relevant experience, total years of experience, industry experience, education, and professional designations.
