Manager - Financial Analysis
Following our 2025 acquisition of Discover, we have a transformative journey ahead of us to both integrate the Discover Card business and catalyze innovation and growth. Specifically, we are looking for a candidate to join the Finance team supporting Discover Card Customer Management activities along with other horizontal FP&A processes supporting the total Discover Card portfolio. The ideal candidate will have superior analytical skills, the ability to build collaborative partnerships across a broad set of stakeholders and exceptional problem-solving abilities in undefined and complex situations.

Managers perform financial data analysis in preparing Profit & Loss or other statements and frequently build reports for higher level associates; provide management and business clients with project statuses; perform reporting and analysis to support presentation and ad-hoc requests.

General Responsibilities:
Financial reporting and analysis, including budgeting, forecasting, variance analysis, financial reporting, and Profit & Loss (P&L) management
Presentations to business stakeholders
Assist in development of presentations to communicate analysis results to senior audiences, clearly articulate outcomes of analysis to leadership teams
Ad-hoc requests and special projects
Basic Qualifications:
Bachelor’s Degree or military experience
At least 5 years experience in financial analysis, financial modeling or a combination
Preferred Qualifications:
Bachelor’s Degree in a quantitative major (Finance, Accounting, Economics, Mathematics, or Engineering)
Masters Degree in Business Administration (MBA), Accounting, Finance, or Economics Certified Treasury Professional or Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) license, or Certified Public Accountant (CPA) license or CFM
6+ years of experience in financial analysis and financial modeling
4+ years experience in financial services, banking or technology industries
4+ years experience partnering with senior leaders and internal stakeholders
Advanced Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint skills or Google Suite
Strong SQL and Python skills

The minimum and maximum full-time annual salaries for this role are listed below, by location. Please note that this salary information is solely for candidates hired to perform work within one of these locations, and refers to the amount Capital One is willing to pay at the time of this posting. Salaries for part-time roles will be prorated based upon the agreed upon number of hours to be regularly worked.
McLean, VA: $151,900 - $173,400 for Manager, Financial AnalysisRichmond, VA: $138,100 - $157,700 for Manager, Financial Analysis
Candidates hired to work in other locations will be subject to the pay range associated with that location, and the actual annualized salary amount offered to any candidate at the time of hire will be reflected solely in the candidate’s offer letter.
This role is also eligible to earn performance based incentive compensation, which may include cash bonus(es) and/or long term incentives (LTI). Incentives could be discretionary or non discretionary depending on the plan.
