Job Summary
The Manager, Government Relations supports and advances the organization's federal lobbying, political engagement, and advocacy efforts. This role works closely with internal stakeholders, external lobbying firms, and key policy partners to execute strategies that promote the company's legislative and regulatory priorities at the federal level.
The ideal candidate brings strong policy and political acumen, experience navigating federal policy environments, and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced setting. They should be a collaborative, detail-oriented operator who can translate complex policy issues into clear, actionable insights and support effective engagement across a range of internal and external stakeholders. Experience working on Capitol Hill, within a federal agency, or in a government relations function, is strongly preferred.

Job Responsibilities
  • Lobbying & Government Relations Support:
  • Monitor legislative activity and provide timely updates to the team on emerging issues and engagement opportunities.
  • Maintain internal trackers and timelines for key legislative initiatives, ensuring deadlines, deliverables, and stakeholder inputs are organized and up to date.
  • Assist in preparing policy briefs, issue summaries, and background materials for internal stakeholders and external engagement.
  • Coordinate logistics for meetings with policymakers, including scheduling, preparing briefing materials, and compiling relevant background information.
  • Lobbying & Government Relations Support:
  • Monitor legislative activity and provide timely updates to the team on emerging issues and engagement opportunities.
  • Maintain internal trackers and timelines for key legislative initiatives, ensuring deadlines, deliverables, and stakeholder inputs are organized and up to date.
  • Assist in preparing policy briefs, issue summaries, and background materials for internal stakeholders and external engagement.
  • Coordinate logistics for meetings with policymakers, including scheduling, preparing briefing materials, and compiling relevant background information.
  • Partner with internal stakeholders to gather input and ensure alignment between advocacy priorities and business objectives.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including state government affairs, to support integrated advocacy efforts.
  • Project Coordination & Team Operations:
  • Support the development and execution of grassroots advocacy campaigns to engage pharmacists, employees, and key stakeholders.
  • Draft and distribute communications (emails, toolkits, alerts) that clearly translate policy priorities into actionable steps for stakeholders.
  • Help grow and maintain a network of engaged advocates by tracking participation and identifying opportunities to increase involvement.
  • Track and report on grassroots campaign performance, including engagement metrics and outcomes.
  • PAC Support:
  • Provide administrative and coordination support for PAC activities, including tracking contributions and maintaining accurate records.
  • Assist with targeted outreach and communications to support PAC engagement and fundraising efforts, as needed.

External Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree and at least 2 years of experience in government relations, trade association and/or a healthcare public policy environment or High School/GED and at least 5 years of experience in government relations, trade association and/or a healthcare public policy environment.
  • Experience supporting policy research, legislative tracking and/or advocacy initiatives; including experience on United States Congress (e.g., Capitol Hill offices or committees).
  • Knowledge of the legislative process, including how bills move through Congress, committee structure, and key stakeholder roles.
  • Experience managing multiple priorities, timelines, and deliverables in a fast-paced environment.
  • Experience collaborating with cross-functional internal teams.
  • Experience translating complex policy topics into accessible materials for a range of audiences
  • Experience managing projects, including maintaining trackers, accurately organizing data/information and/or communicating to stakeholders
  • Willing to travel up to 25% of the time for business purposes (within state and out of state)


Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in public policy, Political Science, Communications, Business, or a related field
  • Prior experience in government relations, advocacy, or public affairs (corporate, trade association, consulting, or government)
  • Experience in or exposure to healthcare or pharmacy-related policy environments
  • Interest in grassroots advocacy and stakeholder engagement, including employee or community-based campaigns
  • Familiarity with legislative tracking tools, policy databases, or CRM systems (a plus)
