JOB SUMMARY

Lead the Reliability Excellence Team of Engineering Americas, supporting all production facilities across the Americas Region in their efforts to improve their business performance through best-in-class equipment reliability and maintenance practices.

RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Lead the Americas Region Reliability Excellence Team.
    This position ensures that best-in-class equipment reliability and maintenance management performance is clearly defined and leverages talent from throughout Evonik to continually improve business outcomes for all regional sites.
  • Incorporate industry and Evonik requirements and best practices into standards and improvement initiatives for our Evonik production sites across the region.
  • Develop and maintain a close relationship to the applicable technical decision-makers in all Americas regional sites in order to support regional site equipment availability and operational efficiency. This business development will also serve to increase profitability for Evonik by proposing best cost solutions.
  • Initiate and manage or oversee reliability and maintenance improvement and optimization projects with joint customer/service teams/
  • Be responsible for monitoring of important market trends and technical developments and making recommendations on strategic development accordingly.
  • Provide a first point of contact to region sites for all equipment reliability topics and be responsible for coordinating other relevant support functions both internal and external.


REQUIREMENTS

  • This is a self-motivated position that requires excellent leadership, analytical, written and verbal communication skills. Responsiveness and professionalism are critical as this position communicates with Site Managers and Engineering/Maintenance Managers frequently.
  • A Bachelor's degree in mechanical, electrical, or chemical engineering discipline is required.
  • An advanced degree, certification, or MBA is preferred.
  • General industrial management experience with a minimum of 10 years in the manufacturing environment is required.
  • Strong background and broad based experience in either the field of maintenance or reliability engineering is required. A thorough knowledge of technical codes, standards and regulations is preferred.
  • A seasoned professional with marketing and business development experience is preferred.
  • The candidate must be analytical and have the ability to problem solve in a concise and logical manner and must have the ability to interpret financial and technical data together to determine and clearly articulate the economic impact of significant decisions.
  • The candidate must be able and willing to travel between 25% - 50% on a typical basis.
  • Preferably, the candidate would have a broad knowledge of Evonik technologies, processes, methodologies, plants and sites, and would be well acquainted with all relevant procedures and best practices in connection with maintenance, reliability, contractor management, and materials management.
  • The candidate must have strong people leadership skills and must be able to motivate employees by establishing challenging yet achievable goals.
