Full Job Description
We are seeking a Manager to join our Entrepreneurial Services Group, with a focus on Client Accounting and Advisory Services (CAAS). This role leads engagements for entrepreneurial and middle-market businesses, combining CAAS with tax compliance and planning. The Manager builds client relationships, provides strategic financial and tax guidance, oversees accounting and engagement delivery, develops team members, and helps clients achieve their operational and long-term business objectives.

Major Responsibilities

  • Lead multiple client engagements and serve as a trusted advisor to owners, executives, boards, and leadership teams.
  • Analyze financial results, KPIs, and operational metrics and provide actionable business recommendations.
  • Advise clients on budgeting, forecasting, cash flow, financial modeling, strategic planning, process improvement, and risk mitigation.
  • Oversee accounting operations, month-end close, financial reporting, internal controls, and U.S. GAAP compliance.
  • Review federal, state, and local tax returns and identify tax planning opportunities for businesses and individuals.
  • Research and communicate complex accounting and tax matters, including the implications of business decisions and transactions.
  • Manage engagement timelines, budgets, billing, deliverables, and service quality.
  • Supervise, mentor, and develop staff.
  • Support client onboarding, retention, business development, and cross-functional service opportunities.


Preferred Experience / Background / Skills

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or a related field required; master's degree preferred.
  • Active CPA license or CMA certification required.
  • At least 5 years of public accounting experience, including tax and outsourced accounting or advisory services required.
  • Strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP, financial reporting, and business and individual taxation required.
  • Experience managing multiple client engagements, budgets, deadlines, and deliverables.
  • Proficiency with QuickBooks, Bill.com, or similar accounting platforms.
  • Experience with budgeting, forecasting, financial modeling, and cash flow analysis.
  • Experience supervising and developing professional staff.
  • Experience serving entrepreneurial, closely held, or middle-market businesses.
  • Strong analytical, client service, communication, leadership, and project management skills.
  • Ability to explain complex accounting and tax matters clearly and practically.


Working Conditions

  • Typical office hours are 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., Monday through Friday.
  • Hybrid work model requiring 2-3 days per week in the office or at a client site.
  • Ability to work extra hours as determined by workload and client expectations.
  • Travel is typically 5% annually but may vary based on business needs.
  • Ability to sit for long periods of time.
  • Ability to move throughout office.
  • Ability to lift, carry, push, pull up to 30-50 pounds.
