PurposeThe Manager, Operations - Field Services is responsible for the leadership and oversight of Liberty Utilities' Troubleman and Metering operations. This position leads day-to-day field service activities while ensuring safe, reliable, and customer-focused service for the communities we serve. The successful candidate will provide leadership to field personnel, support the continued evolution of the Metering Department, and drive operational excellence through program development, process improvement, and effective customer engagement. This position serves as a key leader in responding to customer concerns, supporting system reliability, and developing procedures and standards that improve organizational performance.
Accountabilities- Provide leadership and oversight of Troubleman and Metering operations.
- Lead, develop, and support employees in a safe, accountable, and high-performing work environment.
- Manage complex customer concerns and serve as an escalation point for service-related issues.
- Develop and maintain operating procedures, standards, and work practices.
- Lead process improvement initiatives that improve safety, efficiency, reliability, and customer satisfaction.
- Lead transformational initiatives within the Metering Department, including process development, operational improvements, workforce effectiveness, and modernization efforts.
- Ensure compliance with company policies, safety requirements, regulatory obligations, and collective bargaining agreements.
- Coordinate outage response, storm restoration, emergency operations, and other field service activities.
- Develop operational plans, budgets, goals, and performance measures.
- Foster strong working relationships with customers, employees, contractors, and internal stakeholders.
Education and Experience- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Business, Utility Operations, or a related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- 5+ years' Experience in utility operations, field services, metering, customer service, or related areas.
- 3+ years' Leadership experience with demonstrated ability to develop and motivate employees.
- Demonstrated ability to develop programs, procedures, and operational processes.
- Strong communication, conflict resolution, and customer relationship management skills.
- Proven ability to lead change and drive continuous improvement initiatives.
- Experience leading union-represented employees preferred.
- Experience with metering operations, AMI systems, and utility work management systems preferred.
The pay range for this position is $120,000 to $180,000. There are many factors considered to determine salary to be offered.
