Full Job Description
What You'll Do:

The Manager, Commodity Tax, will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day management of Indirect tax affairs, managing tax audits, and ensuring proper monthly tax compliance.
  • Oversee, review, and assist with the preparation of indirect tax returns and ensure it is filed accurately and on a timely basis.
  • Stay current on sales tax changes; analyze the implications of any changes to federal and provincial commodity tax rules, published rulings, interpretations, and court cases, and communicate to the appropriate businesses.
  • Manage federal and provincial commodity tax audits including participation to negotiate and settle audit disputes.
  • Train, mentor, and develop other team associates to encourage cross training, succession, and compelling career paths
  • Determine federal and provincial commodity tax implications of recurring and unusual transactions with a view to minimizing tax cost to the CTC group and its subsidiaries
  • Communicate and interact with various outside stakeholders including the vendors, customers (through customer relations) and government officials.
  • Design/Improve processes to achieve operational efficiency and automation as well as data accuracy with respect to the accounting of commodity taxes
  • Participate in special projects as required and as identified for exposure rectification or realization of opportunities.


What You Bring:
  • Completion of Accounting Designation
  • 5+ years working experience in commodity tax
  • Strong interpersonal and communication (written and verbal) skills to build professional relationships with other finance and business teams across Enterprise
  • Proven ability to solve problems, propose alternatives to resolve issues and identify process improvement opportunities
  • Ability to prioritize, meet deadlines, and maintain exceptional attention to detail
  • Demonstrated ability to plan and manage workloads and assigned projects

Broadband Salary Range: $79,000 - $131,000 CAD.
Salary decisions are also dependent on other factors such as your experience, industry benchmarks, internal equity and other role-specific requirements. For critical roles, the compensation offering will be reviewed to ensure alignment with market rate and conditions and the unique value you bring to the role.
