What will your typical day look like?

In this role, you will help financial services clients address complex financial crime and regulatory challenges through advanced analytics, quantitative modeling, and model risk management. Leveraging your technical expertise and industry knowledge, you will lead the delivery of AML model development and validation engagements while advising clients on model risk, governance, and regulatory expectations.
As part of the AML Analytics team, you will work with leading financial institutions to develop, enhance, validate, and optimize AML models and analytics solutions across customer risk rating, transaction monitoring, sanctions screening, and other financial crime frameworks. You will assess model methodologies, data quality, assumptions, performance, and governance practices, helping clients strengthen their financial crime risk management programs and meet evolving regulatory requirements.
You will lead multidisciplinary teams of data scientists, model validators, and AML specialists, overseeing engagement delivery, reviewing technical analyses, and presenting findings and recommendations to senior client stakeholders. You will also contribute to business development initiatives, thought leadership, and the growth of our AML Analytics practice.

Enough about us, let's talk about you

Ideally, you are someone with:
  • 5-8+ years of experience in AML, financial crime analytics, model risk management, quantitative modeling, or a related field,including significant experience in AML model development and/or validation.
  • Advanced degree (Master's or PhD preferred) in Statistics, Mathematics, Economics, Data Science, Computer Science, Engineering, Quantitative Finance, or a related quantitative discipline.
  • Extensive experience developing, enhancing, validating, and monitoring AML models, including customer risk rating, transaction monitoring, sanctions screening, and other financial crime detection models.
  • Strong understanding of statistical modeling, machine learning techniques, model performance assessment, threshold optimization, segmentation, and outcome analysis.
  • Proven experience conducting end-to-end model validations, including conceptual soundness reviews, data and methodology assessments, independent replication testing, sensitivity analysis, benchmarking, and validation reporting.
  • Deep knowledge of model risk management frameworks and regulatory expectations, including SR 11-7, OSFI E-23, FINTRAC, BSA/AML, OFAC, FinCEN, FCA, EU AMLD, and other relevant financial crime regulations.
  • Strong programming skills in Python, SQL, SAS, R, or similar technologies, with hands-on experience working with large and complex datasets. Experience with automation and advanced analytics is an asset.
  • Knowledge of banking products, customer behaviors, and financial crime typologies across retail, commercial, wealth management, and capital markets.
  • Experience supporting regulatory exams, internal audits, consent order remediation, model governance, or independent assurance activities is highly desirable.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead client engagements, manage teams, mentor junior practitioners, and communicate complex quantitative findings to senior business, risk, and regulatory stakeholders.
  • Prior experience within a leading financial institution, model risk management function, financial crime analytics team, regulator, or professional services firm serving financial services clients.
  • Professional certifications such as CAMS, CFCS, CFE, FRM, or PRM are considered an asset, along with excellent communication skills and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced consulting environment.


Total Rewards

The salary range for this position is $101,000 - $169,000, and individuals may be eligible to participate in our bonus program.
