Position Summary

The Manager, Advisor Relationship Management is responsible for leading a team of Advisor Relationship Managers dedicated to delivering an exceptional advisor experience while driving advisor engagement, retention, and business growth. This role serves as a strategic leader and trusted partner to financial advisors, business leaders, and cross-functional stakeholders to ensure advisors maximize the value of the firm's platform, services, and resources.

The Manager will oversee advisor relationship strategies, coaching and development of advisor-facing team members, advisor retention initiatives, and process improvements that support scalable growth across the organization.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities


Team Leadership & Development

  • Lead, coach, and develop a team of Advisor Relationship Managers.
  • Establish performance expectations, service standards, and key performance indicators.
  • Conduct ongoing coaching, mentoring, and performance development discussions.
  • Foster a high-performing, advisor-centric culture focused on service excellence and accountability.
  • Support workforce planning, talent development, succession planning, and employee engagement initiatives.

Advisor Relationship Strategy

  • Oversee advisor engagement and relationship management activities across assigned advisor segments.
  • Ensure advisors receive proactive support and strategic guidance throughout the advisor lifecycle.
  • Serve as a senior escalation point for complex advisor relationship and service matters.
  • Monitor advisor satisfaction and retention trends and implement action plans to address identified risks.
  • Develop strategies that strengthen advisor loyalty, engagement, and long-term partnership.

Business Growth & Practice Development

  • Partner with advisors to support practice growth, business expansion, succession planning, and operational efficiency initiatives.
  • Promote adoption of firm products, services, technology, and strategic resources.
  • Collaborate with recruiting and business development leaders to improve advisor acquisition and retention outcomes.
  • Identify opportunities to enhance advisor productivity and overall business performance.

Cross-Functional Leadership

  • Partner with Operations, Compliance, Marketing, Technology, Product, Investments, and Recruiting teams to deliver a seamless advisor experience.
  • Advocate for advisor needs and influence organizational decisions that impact advisor satisfaction and growth.
  • Lead initiatives to improve advisor service delivery, processes, and operational effectiveness.
  • Utilize advisor feedback and business insights to drive continuous improvement efforts.

Reporting & Analytics

  • Monitor advisor engagement, retention, growth, and satisfaction metrics.
  • Measure team performance through defined service and business outcomes.
  • Provide leadership with regular reporting and recommendations regarding advisor trends, opportunities, and risks.
  • Leverage data to optimize advisor segmentation, service models, and resource allocation.

Qualifications


Education

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Wealth Management, Marketing, or related field required.
  • Advanced industry certifications preferred.

Experience

  • 8-10+ years of experience in wealth management, advisor services, relationship management, advisor success, business development, or financial services.
  • 3+ years of leadership or team management experience preferred.
  • Experience supporting independent advisors, RIAs, broker-dealers, or wealth management firms.
  • Demonstrated success leading advisor engagement, retention, and growth initiatives.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Deep knowledge of the wealth management and advisor services industry.
  • Strong leadership, coaching, and performance management capabilities.
  • Exceptional relationship management and consultative communication skills.
