Job DescriptionAs a Manager - Accounts Payable, you will manage all activities in the accounts payable function. You will ensure timely payments of vendor invoices and expense vouchers and maintains accurate records and control reports. You will review applicable accounting reports and accounts payable register to ensure accuracy. You will manage subordinate staff in the day-to-day performance of their jobs. You will ensure that project/department milestones/goals are met and adhering to approved budgets.
Responsibilities:- Lead the Accounts Payable function, managing day-to-day operations, assigning and reviewing work, setting goals, measuring results, and ensuring timely, accurate completion of all AP activities.
- Manage, coach, develop, and evaluate a team of 8 employees, building organizational capability through performance management, feedback, and professional development.
- Serve as System Administrator for Accounts Payable, Fixed Assets, and iExpense modules, overseeing system enhancements, automation initiatives, and technology optimization.
- Lead process improvement, automation, and continuous improvement initiatives that increase efficiency, scalability, accuracy, internal controls, and the overall customer and supplier experience.
- Ensure compliance with Wesco policies, Sarbanes-Oxley requirements, and governmental regulations, while coordinating audit requests and providing support to internal and external auditors.
- Monitor and analyze Accounts Payable performance through key metrics and reporting, providing insights and recommendations to senior leadership on invoice processing, payment timeliness, exception management, productivity, and operational effectiveness.
- Oversee financial controls and accounting activities, including payment processing accuracy, journal entries, general ledger account reconciliations, monthly reconciliations, and summary reporting.
- Manage escalated supplier and internal stakeholder issues, ensuring timely resolution and maintaining positive business relationships.
- Support special projects and strategic initiatives as assigned.
Qualifications:- Bachelors' Degree in Business, finance, or accounting. or related required
- Progressive accounting - 3 years required; 6 years preferred
- Previous supervisory of both exempt and non-exempt staff - 1 year required; 3 years preferred
- Fixed asset accounting - 1 year preferred
- Oracle or other large integrated financial system - 3 years preferred
- Accounts payable or other transaction heavy accounting function - 3 years preferred
- General systems aptitude
- Strong communication skills
- Strong problem solving skills
- Proficiency using Microsoft Office products, especially Excel
- Ability to deal effectively with vendors and outside agencies
- Ability to work under tight time schedules and handle multiple tasks

This amount is what we reasonably believe we will pay for the position; however, offer amounts may vary based on factors such as geographic location, relevant education, experience, qualifications, skills, shift, or any collective bargaining agreements.
For eligible positions, compensation may include participation in a bonus or sales incentive plan, subject to the terms and conditions of the applicable plan documents. For certain sales roles, Wesco also offers a commission structure that provides additional compensation based on sales results, as defined by the applicable commission plan.
