Manager, AccountingNiagara-on-the-Lake, ONHYBRIDWHAT YOU WILL DO - Lead full-cycle accounting for assigned subsidiaries and divisions, including month-end close, general ledger, reconciliations and financial statement preparation.
- Prepare, analyze and present monthly financial statements, management reports and financial analysis, ensuring accuracy, timeliness and compliance with accounting policies and principles.
- Resolve complex accounting and technical issues, strengthen accounting processes and controls, and identify opportunities to improve financial systems, reporting and overall efficiency.
- Manage tax reporting and compliance, including quarterly tax provisions, annual tax returns and disclosures, and coordination of CRA and provincial/territorial tax audits.
- Coordinate external financial statement audits and internal audits, including interim testing, year-end reporting, documentation and ongoing SOX and internal control requirements.
- Partner with Finance, business leaders and other corporate teams to develop effective financial processes, systems and reporting, while providing accounting guidance to subsidiaries and business units.
- Support the financial integration of new subsidiaries and divisions, ensuring alignment with Henry Schein's financial processes, systems and controls.
- Provide leadership to one direct report and an outsourced accounting team, while collaborating with Finance teams across Canada and the U.S., internal and external auditors, and professional advisors.
WHAT YOU BRING- CPA designation with previous public accounting experience and a post-secondary education in Accounting or a related discipline.
- 4-5+ years of progressive accounting experience with increasing responsibility and complexity, ideally within a multi-division, distribution or similarly complex environment, with strong expertise in full-cycle accounting, general ledger, financial statements and account reconciliations.
- Experience with tax provisions, corporate tax filings, financial statement audits, internal controls and SOX compliance, with the ability to apply sound technical accounting judgment to complex issues.
- Advanced Microsoft Excel and technology skills, with experience working with financial systems, databases and reporting tools. JD Edwards experience is an asset, as is experience with financial modelling, database reporting or data analysis.
- Experience supporting accounting projects, mergers and acquisitions, or the integration of new businesses is an asset.

Compensation: The posted range for this position is $93,400 - $116,400, which is the expected salary range for an employee who is new to the role to fully proficient in the role, in addition to an annual bonus. Many factors go into determining pay within the posted range including education, prior experience, training, skills, certifications, location/labour market, internal equity, etc
