Full Job Description
Manager, Accounting (Intercompany)

We are looking for an exceptional Accounting Manager to build and lead the intercompany and intracompany accounting function. The Accounting team owns the month-end close and reporting infrastructure behind one of the fastest-scaling companies in defense. This is a build seat more than a maintain seat: we are preparing for a future potential IPO, expanding rapidly, and managing increasingly complex intercompany and intracompany relationships, so you will set the processes, systems, and controls this function runs on for years.

The ideal candidate will be able to support the hyper growth of our business and will therefore need to be comfortable and experienced moving at an incredibly fast pace. Come join us as we disrupt an entire industry and help take your career to the next level with a team that is charging towards changing the world of defense.

WHAT YOU'LL DO
  • Intercompany & Intracompany Accounting: Own end-to-end intercompany and intracompany accounting - designing and maintaining the intercompany framework, processing intercompany and intracompany transactions, reconciling balances, and driving timely elimination entries across all entities and business units.
  • Passdown & Allocation: Own the methodology and execution of corporate cost passdowns, intracompany allocations, shared-service allocations, and management fee structures, ensuring they are defensible, well-documented, and compliant with government contracting requirements (e.g., CAS/FAR).
  • Entity Management: Maintain the legal entity structure in the ERP and ensure new entities are set up with proper charts of accounts, intercompany agreements, and elimination hierarchies.
  • Financial Close: Own the monthly, quarterly, and annual close for intercompany and intracompany accounts, delivering journal entries, accruals, and flux analysis on the close calendar.
  • Reporting & Disclosures: Prepare and review consolidation schedules, intercompany elimination entries, and related footnotes and disclosures for financial reporting.
  • Reconciliations: Review balance sheet reconciliations for intercompany and intracompany accounts on a timely basis, and research and resolve variances as needed.
  • Team Leadership: Lead, mentor, and develop a team of accountants, setting priorities, reviewing work, and building bench strength as the intercompany portfolio grows.
  • Systems & Process Improvement: Help implement new systems or improve efficiencies with current systems to support continued company and team growth - including intercompany billing platforms and consolidation tools.
  • SOX Readiness: Help build and maintain SOX-ready process documentation and key controls over intercompany transactions, intracompany allocations, and eliminations in support of public company readiness.
  • Audit Support: Serve as the primary owner of external audit requests covering intercompany and intracompany accounts, including PBC schedules, walkthroughs, and technical accounting memos.
  • Cross-Functional Partnership: Partner with FP&A, Tax, Treasury, and Legal on transfer pricing, entity rationalization, and intercompany agreements.
  • Mindset: No job too small mentality, be curious and helpful to others.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • Intercompany & Consolidations: Experience managing or overseeing multi-entity intercompany accounting and consolidation processes is required.
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in accounting or related field.
  • Experience: 6+ years of progressive accounting experience, including direct people management experience.
  • Technical Accounting: Working knowledge of consolidation standards - ASC 810 (consolidations) and intercompany elimination frameworks.
  • Systems & Rigor: Highly detail-oriented with strong experience in Excel, ERP systems, and US GAAP.
  • Prioritization: Proven ability to manage competing priorities in a high-growth organization.
  • Execution & Strategic Vision: Able to get your hands dirty to drive organizational change while also maintaining an ability to manage against strategic priorities and reporting.
  • Eligibility: Must be a U.S. Person due to required access to U.S. export controlled information or facilities.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • Education & Certifications: CPA (active or inactive) and/or MBA.
  • Industry Background: Prior experience in companies in tech or advanced manufacturing.
  • Government Contracting: Familiarity with CAS, FAR, or DFARS cost accounting requirements.
  • Accounting Mix: Healthy mix of technical accounting and operational accounting.
