This is an excellent opportunity to grow your career servicing some of the largest and most exciting clients in the market. Join a winning team!

Join KPMG's Accounting Advisory Services team in Toronto, where you'll support clients with day-to-day finance operations and controllership-focused activities. In this role, you'll work closely with private and public companies across industries to help maintain accurate financial records, support reporting processes, and strengthen financial controls.

You'll be part of a collaborative team providing hands-on support across core accounting and financial reporting functions, including bookkeeping, general ledger maintenance, account reconciliations, month-end, quarter-end and year-end close, and preparation of financial statements under IFRS, US GAAP, and ASPE. Your work will help ensure timely, reliable financial information that management and stakeholders can depend on.

This role is well suited to a detail-oriented, practical professional who enjoys owning the numbers, managing multiple priorities, and working closely with clients' finance teams. You'll communicate clearly with both finance and non-finance stakeholders and help translate accounting requirements into efficient, well-documented processes. The position offers exposure to a range of organizations and opportunities to deepen your controllership skills, operational accounting expertise, and client relationship experience.

  • Assist with financial reporting under IFRS, US GAAP, and ASPE
  • Identify and resolve accounting issues, ensuring consistency, accuracy, and well-documented processes
  • Work directly with clients to improve close routines, controls, and overall finance operations
  • Support with coordinating workstreams and mentoring junior team members

What you bring to the role

  • Hold a Canadian CPA designation, or hold an internationally recognized equivalent accounting designation per CPA Canada guidelines
  • 5+ years' professional experience, preferably in a consulting environment
  • Strong hands-on experience in operational accounting, bookkeeping, and reconciliations
  • Sound understanding of financial reporting frameworks (IFRS, US GAAP, and/or ASPE) from a practical application perspective
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, including the preparation of clear analysis and presentations for senior stakeholders.
  • Proven leadership and project management capabilities, including leading engagement teams, coaching junior professionals, and managing multiple priorities while maintaining high quality and attention to detail.
  • High adaptability and resilience in a fast-paced, evolving advisory environment.
  • Experience working across different accounting systems and ERPs (e.g., QuickBooks, NetSuite, SAP, Oracle, or similar platforms) preferred
