  • Essential RTL Job Functions:
    - Provide strong leadership to help drive a strong culture and foster engagement while supporting the firm's vision framework.
    - Recruit, interview, and hire new employees to support project workload and overall firm growth.
    - Retain our best and brightest and support your employees' career journey.
    - Actively participate in your team members' career paths, including identifying and completing appropriate training, achieving professional registration/certification, and assigning challenging projects.
    - Select suitable mentors for your employees as part of the Career Compass Program.
    - Celebrate team members at important milestones (i.e., work anniversaries, promotions, professional registration, etc.)
    - Conduct timely and effective annual performance appraisals, coordinating with technical mentors, project managers, Technical Delivery Managers (TDM), and others.
    - Leverage your team's participation in the Community of Practice.
    - Create a culture of personal ownership for quality of work product.
    - Coordinate workload within the Program Services Group and utilization goals for the individuals on your team.
    - Manage the team's financial performance relative to annual goals.
    - Deliver appropriate sales support, as coordinated with the TDM and Discipline Leaders.
    - Act as the direct manager and administrator for a team of approximately 25 staff.
    - Ensure your team members are compliant with CDM Smith's QMP and Health & Safety procedures for project delivery.

    This management role is approximately 40% of the job requirement with 60% of time working on construction projects and pursuit of new work opportunities
  • With high level goals provided, leads moderate to highly complex consulting analyses (e.g., operations improvement, Human Resources, organizational design, etc.) to support client business needs.
  • With high level goals provided, leads the preparation of moderate to highly complex sections of management consulting reports.
  • Leads the creation of basic to highly complex recommendations for improvements to client programs.
  • With high level goals provided, contacts clients to collect or review datasets and/or presentations.
  • Provides project status updates to clients, as required.
  • Manages implementation plans as appropriate.
  • Collaborates with sales staff to create proposals in response to current and potential client requests for proposal (RFPs).
  • Reviews draft proposals for adherence to firm, industry, state, local and federal regulations and best practices.
  • Meets with current and potential future clients to review their current and future organizational needs.
  • Provides technical guidance and training to more junior staff.
  • Mentors more junior staff and develops them for future growth within the discipline and firm.
  • Performs other duties as required.
  • Participate in Communities of Practice (CoP) activities.
  • May participate in professional association and societies, attend conferences, contribute to papers, etc.

Skills & Abilities

  • Expert knowledge of corporate governance practices, organization design principles, accounting principles, finance, supply chain management, and organization management. Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Ability to understand highly complex technical, professional and business materials.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree.
  • 12 years of related experience.
  • Domestic and/or international travel may be required.
  • The frequency of travel is contingent on specific duties, responsibilities, and the essential functions of the position, which may vary depending on workload and project demands.
  • Equivalent additional directly related experience will be considered in lieu of a degree.

CDM Smith is committed to fair and equitable compensation practices. This pay range is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels for the geographic location assigned to the position. In addition to geographic location, a candidate's salary is determined by several other factors including, but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, relevant work experience, skills, required certifications, and education/training.
Additional Compensation

All bonuses at CDM Smith are discretionary and may or may not apply to this position.
