Job DescriptionWe are currently offering a $10,000 sign-on bonus to newly hired Techs!Summary of Essential Duties:As a Mammography Technologist, you will perform a broad range of scans/procedures from basic to somewhat complex relative to a specific patient population and may assist physicians in performing procedures as well as transport medications from the delivery area to an authorized imaging area. This includes needle and radar localizations, as well as stereotactic breast biopsies. You will exercise your cultural competency in providing patient education and maintain a safe environment by identifying and reporting any safety concerns.
Responsibilities- Performs routine screening mammography exams and diagnostic mammography exams when needed, utilizing approved procedures and protocols per standards of practice for speed, organization, precision and accuracy based upon the departmental and federal MQSA's guidelines. Adheres to department productivity standards.
- Per scope of practice and in accordance with institutional and departmental policy and procedure, receives and transcribes verbal orders from licensed independent practitioners. Accurate and timely documentation in all applicable electronic medical records system, workbooks and or logs. Responsible for weekend and begin and/or end of shift duties as applicable to shift assignment.
- Previews all mammography images and monitors for accuracy prior to pushing to Picture Archiving and Communication System (PACS) and breast imaging viewing system(s). Performs section specific imaging quality control (QC) procedures using established technical factors and image identification.
- Operates, calibrates and maintains imaging equipment and accessory instruments used in imaging procedures. Recognizes and reports defective equipment immediately and marks equipment as "out of service". Takes an active role in obtaining service for down equipment. Participates in the evaluation of new imaging equipment.
- Maintains the section workflow without jeopardizing patient care.
QualificationsEducation:
- Graduate of an accredited Mammography program required
License/Certifications:
- ARRT(R) certification required
- State of California Mammography certification required
- BLS from the American Heart Association or American Red Cross required
Experience:
- No experience required
- Applicants with more than 1 year of experience in Mammography may be considered as a Mammography Tech II
