Full Job Description
Job Responsibilities:

Compensation Range: $39-41 per hour

Hiring Shift: Night

PRIMARY FUNCTION
  • Build and maintain tools as defined by toolroom manager
  • Develops new dies; advanced trouble-shooting and problem-solving solution skills; makes changes to meet or exceed quoted rates and improve product capability
  • Manages the spare parts inventory and its control system
  • Continuous improvement


QUALIFICATIONS
  • Valid Ontario tool & die maker certificate with proof of valid apprenticeship or master tool and die certificate or equivalent European apprenticeship and tool and die "meisterbrief"
  • Minimum of 7 years experience in fineblanking of performed parts, advanced transfer dies and deep draw
  • Experience in maintenance and die acceptance in including approval
  • Grade 12 education & college apprenticeship program or equivalent European education
  • Capable of full construction of new tools; excellent independent trouble-shooting and problem-solving skills
  • Good understanding of gd&t level 1, spc level 2, metrology, blueprint reading & basic cnc lathe/machining programming
  • Able to work independently, excellent documentation skills
  • Strong English language communication skills (both verbal & written)
  • Knowledge of acad
  • Certified crane operator; trained in WHMIS & lockout/tagout


DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Able to communicate improvement ideas and tooling changes with European (German) tooling suppliers
  • Maintain roller dies and inline fineblank dies according to maintenance intervals
  • Establish maintenance intervals for all new tooling
  • Responsible for maintaining tooling documentation (tooling history) up to the smallest detail
  • Responsible for spare parts inventory and spare parts availability
  • Responsible for daily and weekly tooling inventory accuracies
  • Maintain and improve dies to meet the quoted rates
  • Maintain tooling efficiencies
  • Responsible for new tooling pm schedules to be maintained with up-to-date information
  • Establish and improve die life of tooling components
  • Sound knowledge of heat treating and coating processes
  • Working together with suppliers to improve tool life and quality of services provided (supplier development)
  • Maintain and update tool drawings and redesign tooling to continuously improve product quality
  • Communicate changes with fellow employees and supervisors
  • Responsible for die sign off and die approval
  • Ensure that die's are ready according to production schedule
  • Minimize downtime through quality improvement activity
  • Work together with fellow employees & personnel of other departments


General
  • Comply with legislative requirements including but not limited to section 28 of the OHSA
  • Use or wear equipment, protective devices or clothing that Pullmatic mfg. Requires to be used or worn
  • Report hazards to your supervisor/manager that you are aware of
  • Will not operate anything or work in a manner that may cause danger
  • Ensure TS16949 & ISO 14001, ISO 45001 compliance
  • Awareness of all relevant customer requirements pertaining to your job function
  • Treat your fellow workers as you would like to be treated
  • Follow guidelines, systems & rules as set out by your employee handbook & company policies
  • Keep your workplace clean & tidy at all times
  • Follow the 5`s requirements established by toolroom supervisor/manager
  • Any other duties that may be assigned
