1st Shift M-F, Nights and required as needed. Focus on Electrical and HVAC controls, BAS, Emergency power systems.

Pay Range
$33.05 - $49.60

Position: Maintenance Trades Specialist Lead.

Location: Atrium Health Cleveland; 201 E. Grove St., Shelby, NC.

Full Time; 1st Shift

~Mon-Fri; nights and weekends as needed.

Major Responsibilities:
  • Performs preventive maintenance and technical repairs on complex facility systems.
  • Diagnoses and implements complex repairs for multiple Utility System, Infrastructure and Life Safety Systems.
  • Installs/replace and maintains building, Mechanical, Electrical, Plumbing and controls systems.
  • Operates, monitors and maintains advanced utility equipment (generators, plant chillers, steam boilers, fire protection systems, etc.) and provides oversight of building automation systems to maintain and improve system efficiencies.
  • Maintains vacuum, compressed air, and medical gas systems
  • Reads and updates blueprints, Life Safety drawings and manuals for accurate task completion.
  • Interfaces with vendors, contractors and construction vendors to ensure safe utility interfacing and tie-in.
  • Responsible for coordinating, scheduling and ensuring required testing, calibrations and maintenance records are provided and maintained.


Licensure, Registration, and/or Certification Required:
  • Valid Driver's License.
  • Industry recognized certification/license requiring Continuing Education Units or periodic renewal to maintain.

Education Required:
  • Advanced training beyond High School that includes the completion of technical training.

Experience Required:
  • 5 or more Years of Experience in relatable industrial/trades maintenance or operations.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Required:
  • Ability to work with minimal oversight with advanced technical skills in facility maintenance.
  • Clear written and verbal communication skills required.
  • Advanced computer skills/competency required in using and operating systems such as Microsoft Office Platform, Building Automation Systems, Pneumatic Tube Systems.
  • Clear understanding of applicable compliance codes and guidelines.
  • Clear understanding of multiple trades and systems and how they interconnect and support the location.


Physical Requirements and Working Conditions:
  • Works required shifts and participates in on-call duty to provide 24/7 coverage.
  • Must be able to sit, stand, walk, lift, squat, bend, crawl, reach above shoulders, and twist frequently throughout the workday.
  • Must be able to lift up to 15 lbs. from floor to overhead, lift up to 50 lbs. from floor to chest-level, lift and carry up to 50 lbs. at waist height a reasonable distance.
  • Must be able to push/pull with 50 lbs. of force.
  • Exposure to electrical and mechanical hazards and therefore knowledge of safety precautions.
  • Position requires travel. May be exposed to road/weather hazards.
  • Operates all equipment necessary to perform the job.
