Your Responsibilities:We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Maintenance Supervisor to oversee the maintenance operations of a large portfolio of affordable housing in Cambridge and Somerville, MA. Working closely with the Multi-Site Facilities Manager, the selected candidate will ensure the properties are well-maintained, safe, and aesthetically pleasing. The duties and responsibilities will include:
- Overseeing, scheduling, and performing in-unit repairs, preventative maintenance, and preparing apartments for new resident occupancy.
- Overseeing completion of work orders, including light electrical, plumbing, and carpentry work, appliance repair, and general building maintenance.
- Performing routine inspections and preventative maintenance of buildings, grounds, and equipment.
- Training and mentoring staff.
- Maintaining an elevated level of customer service for our residents.
- Working with contractors as needed.
- Maintaining inventory and working within a budget.
- Scheduling and supervising maintenance personnel.
- Ensuring the quality of work performed.
- Planning and documenting preventative maintenance programs and preparing for property inspections.
- Managing the Yardi work order system and communicating with the team about the status of ongoing projects.
The work hours are 8:30am-5:00pm, Monday-Friday, with on-call duties shared on rotation.
Skills & Requirements Your Qualifications:We are looking for a team player with excellent communication skills and a strong customer service philosophy. The ideal candidate will be able to train and motivate staff while working alongside them and ensuring jobs are completed with full cleanup.
- Knowledge of general apartment repair and previous experience in carpentry, plumbing, electrical, HVAC work, and appliance repair is required.
- Previous experience supervising a team of maintenance professionals is required.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and a work order management system is required; experience with Yardi is preferred.
- A valid driver's license and access to a vehicle are required.
