The Maintenance Scheduler/ Planner is under general supervision or direction to perform a variety of technical level duties involved in serving as a database developer and administering the Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) for the assigned function or program area; plans and schedules work and creates and runs reports for Maintenance, Instrumentation and Electrical, Field Headquarters, and Operations personnel and supervisors.

- Serve as the Water Production Groups or Field Headquarters Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) Planner/Scheduler to plan, estimate, and prioritize maintenance tasks. Review and close out completed work orders for content and history.
- Collaborate with all department managers to evaluate equipment performance criteria/condition monitoring and failure analysis to assess equipment condition to ensure that preventative maintenance is being performed at the correct intervals.
- Function as database developer; manage database for asset registers, gather and administer information for asset creation; create new asset records; create new numbers, codes, and descriptions; delete unused numbers and records; create and delete preventive maintenance schedules. Maintain CMMS database system codes, asset information, Manage and optimize inventory and spare parts requirements as they pertain to preventive and planned maintenance tasks. Create new information screens; make changes to existing screens.
- Prepare monthly, quarterly, yearly and other reports as required and requested; develop and run Excel spreadsheets and queries.
- Participate in reinvention related projects; create new records; coordinate with District staff, engineers, and consultants on diagrams, area reconciliation and quality assurance/quality control spreadsheets; Provide review on these to insure conformance of asset registry standards in conjunction with PCS Manager or Administrator review. Rectify any discrepancies in the field.
- Develop and provide training on systems and procedures; prepare CMMS training manuals; provide training and assistance to other staff.

Typical QualificationsThe following generally describes the knowledge and ability required to enter the job and/or be learned within a short period of time in order to successfully perform the assigned duties.
Knowledge of:- Basic principles and practices of computers.

Ability to:- In the tasks involved with the principles, methods, and materials used in installing, maintaining, and repairing systems and equipment involved in a water/wastewater treatment facility, including preventive and corrective maintenance techniques.
- Understanding of basic asset management principles as they relate to water/wastewater treatment equipment.
- Reading, interpreting, and understanding plans, schematics, technical manuals, diagrams, blueprints and drawings.
- Compiling information and data from multiple sources.
- Preparing clear and concise reports.
- Establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with those contacted in the course of work.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE GUIDELINESAny combination of education and experience that would likely provide the required knowledge and abilities is qualifying. A typical way to obtain the knowledge and abilities would be:
Education/Training: High school diploma required, supplemented by college-level or trade school coursework in the area of the assigned trade. Valid California driver's license required. Maintenance Certification preferred.
Experience: A minimum of 5 years of experience performing duties related to the assigned trade, including experience maintaining, repairing, and installing equipment supplemented by experience with computer systems and software. This includes use of the Maximo CMMS software system. Previous experience with any other CMMS software applications is also highly desirable.
License: A valid California driver's license and proof of automobile insurance is required.
