Position Summary
We have an opportunity for a Maintenance Manager to join our team and lead a skilled maintenance crew. In this role, you will oversee preventive and predictive maintenance programs, ensuring equipment and facilities operate at peak efficiency. You will mentor and train your team, maintain safety standards, and manage maintenance operations to meet quality and productivity goals. This is a hands-on leadership position where your expertise will help drive operational excellence and continuous improvement.
Shift: M-F 8am-5pm
Location: Manassas, VA
100% Onsite
The Role
Provide leadership and direct supervision to the maintenance mechanic crew
Create preventive and predictive maintenance programs to increase operational throughput
Schedule, train, and mentor the team for maximum efficiency
Ensure adequate staffing, direction, discipline, and corrective action
Oversee planning and execution of daily production activities
Manage operations to improve performance through continuous improvement and problem analysis
Reduce unscheduled downtime, equipment stops, breakdowns, and process upsets
Direct employees in proper safety procedures and eliminate avoidable accidents
Facilitate project work and ensure successful implementation within set parameters
Set up and oversee preventive/predictive maintenance programs
Serve as Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) champion
Manage production changeovers
Maintain vendor performance records for evaluation and review
Support and meet company Objectives, Goals, Strategies, and Measures (OGSM)
Track, report, and post efficiency and reliability performance of each machine
Participate in all required training to perform job responsibilities
Manage maintenance budget and execute cost efficiency initiatives
Other duties as assigned
The Candidate
Minimum Requirements
Associate degree or 5-10 years of related experience and/or training
Strong analytical, problem-solving, and process improvement skills
Ability to prioritize and follow through to achieve results and meet deadlines
Strong leadership skills with the ability to build trust, provide direction, and execute with excellence
Solid foundation in interpersonal communication, including written, oral, presentation, listening, and facilitation skills
Ability to facilitate change, foster innovation, and deliver results
Ability to coordinate multiple priorities and develop effective solutions
Knowledge of machinery operations and equipment
Ability to lift 50 pounds
The employee must be able to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Frequent standing, walking, reaching, stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling, and talking or hearing are required. Occasional sitting, climbing, balancing, and tasting or smelling are also required.
Demonstrable leadership experience at Catalent (including but not limited to participation in Catalent‑sponsored leadership programs such as NGGL, GOLD, LEAD Now, GM Excellence, and GROW) may be considered in place of external experience.
