Maintenance Lead to join our team in
Liberty, Texas. Reporting to the Plant Manager, you'll lead the day-to-day maintenance activities at the site, including preventive and predictive maintenance, equipment repairs, planned outages, and major shutdowns. You'll provide hands-on technical leadership to the maintenance team while partnering closely with Operations, Engineering, and HSE to improve equipment reliability, minimize downtime, and support safe, efficient plant operations.
What You'll Own- Day-to-day maintenance planning, coordination, scheduling, and execution, including short-duration outages and major shutdowns
- Technical leadership and day-to-day direction of maintenance technicians
- Preventive and predictive maintenance programs focused on improving equipment reliability and reducing unplanned downtime
- Maintenance department safety performance, with a strong focus on achieving zero recordable incidents
- Maintenance budget control, cost management, and department performance metrics
- Identification and execution of reliability improvements that increase equipment availability and plant capacity
- Maintenance support for capital projects, equipment specifications, installations, and commissioning activities
- Critical spare parts and MRO inventory necessary to support equipment repairs and production continuity
- Contractor coordination and oversight for maintenance-related work
- Accuracy of equipment documentation, including equipment lists, P&IDs, loop sheets, wiring diagrams, and related technical records
- Continuous improvement of communication and coordination between Maintenance, Operations, Engineering, HSE, and other plant functions
- Hands-on support for maintenance and I&E technicians in troubleshooting equipment issues and executing work orders
What We're Looking For- At least 8 years of directly related maintenance experience in a chemical plant environment
- Strong working knowledge of chemical plant equipment, including pumps, piping, heat exchangers, vessels, instrumentation, rotating equipment, and related systems
- Experience planning and executing daily maintenance activities in an industrial manufacturing environment
- Demonstrated experience leading maintenance personnel and managing maintenance activities
- Experience with budget control and maintenance performance metrics
- Strong troubleshooting skills and the ability to apply practical mechanical and process knowledge to plant equipment issues
- Ability to read and interpret P&IDs, schematics, specification sheets, drawings, and other technical documentation
- Working knowledge of mechanical integrity requirements for vessels, tanks, piping, rotating equipment, and other plant assets
- Experience with MRO inventory, spare parts, and storeroom requirements preferred
- Proficiency with Microsoft applications and ERP systems; SAP experience preferred
- Strong communication, organizational, and leadership skills with the ability to effectively partner across plant functions
- Ability to balance hands-on maintenance support with planning, prioritization, leadership, and administrative responsibilities
