Maintenance and Facilities Manager

Job Description:

Summary:

This role aligns and executes the site vision for the Maintenance and Facilities teams, including capital expenditure, preventive maintenance, and corporate social responsibility, within a 24/7 operating environment. The manager reports directly to the Director of Operations and is a key member of the operations leadership team.

This manager will work the 1st shift Monday-Friday 8 AM-5 PM.

Must be flexible to see all three shifts one (1) day weekly to have face to face interactions with all direct reports on each shift.

This position is responsible for overseeing the Maintenance and Facilities departments, managing facility capital projects, monitoring SAP preventive maintenance completion and other maintenance performance metrics, and ensuring the reliability, redundancy, and contingency readiness of critical facility systems to support uninterrupted operations.

Primary Responsibilities and Duties:

  • Plan and execute building maintenance and operational programs for all facilities in Chaska


  • Manage and handle all vendor contracts, including vendors for various maintenance items, activities, and tasks


  • Coordinate and enact site safety programs, while making sure safety policies are maintained


  • Ensure the efficiency and operational capacity of all building systems, including specific sustainability initiatives that benefits the location and our community


  • Develop and maintain reliability strategies, system redundancy, and contingency plans for critical facility infrastructure, including air compressors, chillers, and cooling towers, to minimize operational disruption and ensure business continuity


  • Prepare operation reports, maintenance budgets, and provide analysis of all reports to site and division leadership


  • Make sure that all maintenance processes and procedures are safe, and that all compliance programs are being met


  • Handle all the facilities planning, space allocations, and cost estimations for equipment and facilities


  • Coordinate with other department leaders to ensure all maintenance and facilities processes are working as intended


  • Lead, manage, and supervise a team of approximately 20 personnel on the facilities and maintenance teams


  • Develop various facilities maintenance schedules while managing and resolving all maintenance issues


  • Monitor SAP metrics, including preventive maintenance completion and other key maintenance performance measures, and take action to keep results on track


  • Create a healthy and safe work environment for all employees


  • Prepare and file all relevant reports with government and regulatory authorities as well as manage relationships with local agencies (i.e., city, county, and state representatives)


  • Manage multi-million-dollar capital projects ensuring they are scoped correctly and executed within timelines and budget


Qualifications and Requirements:

  • 7+ years of progressive maintenance and facilities leadership experience


  • 2+ years of people leadership experience required
  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, business management, facilities management or any related field required
  • Facilities management certification is a plus
  • PMP certification is a plus


  • A working understanding of electrical systems, HVAC systems, carpentry, and various mechanical and architectural systems


  • Knowledge of purchasing, supplies, grounds keeping, and equipment repair


  • Excellent communication and presentation skills


  • Ability to work cross-functionally


  • Superior time management and organizational skills


  • Continuous Improvement certification (Lean, six-sigma, and/or TPM) preferred.


  • Excellent leadership skills, great attention to detail, and goal-oriented


  • Ability to interpret and apply various laws, regulations, and rules


  • Ability to manage and supervise complex and multi-disciplinary projects, with both Entegris staff and multiple 3rd party contractors and subcontractors


  • Knowledge of various reliability measures and techniques


Physical Requirements:
  • Ability to sit or stand for extended periods
  • Can perform repetitive hand movements due to frequent keyboard use
  • Must wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE)-such as safety glasses, hearing protection and/or steel-toe footwear as needed when working on production floor
