Full Job Description
When passion and impact come together, an institution becomes more than a place to work. As many of our teachers and staff will tell you, Flint Hill is a place where they are challenged and inspired, and yet it still feels like home.
At Flint Hill, we believe in redefining what educational excellence looks like. Always curious, every day, we ask questions like, "Imagine if?" and "What's possible?" And we encourage our students to do the same.
Our teachers' expertise and commitment to innovative teaching are complemented by a personal approach that emphasizes respect and communication.
At Flint Hill, children are nurtured to be their very best, surrounded by people who know and care about them. Our Lower School, grades Junior Kindergarten - 6, sets new standards of excellence by relentlessly innovating our approach to learning, helping children develop in a positive environment and learn essential social and academic skills. We encourage students to take an active role in their education, as they become effective communicators and collaborative leaders. By emphasizing critical thinking, collaboration, personal goal-setting, and problem-solving skills, our Lower School students become productive and excited learners.
The Lower School Social Studies Department Chair supports the experience of Flint Hill students and faculty and embraces the mission, vision, and core values of the school, the Flint Hill Statement of Institutional Equity and Inclusion, and the Portrait of the Flint Hill Student.
The salary range for this position is $80,000 to $120,000. The pay range represents a good-faith estimate of the salary the school reasonably expects to pay for the position upon hire. The pay offered to the selected candidate will be determined based on a range of factors unique to each candidate, including, but not limited to, knowledge, skills, and abilities; relevant education; length, depth, and breadth of related experience; and any advanced skills the candidate may possess.
