Title:
Loss Prevention Engineer
KBR is seeking a Loss Prevention Engineer to provide independent technical oversight and assurance of process safety, fire protection, life safety, hazardous materials management, and loss prevention activities for the project. Acting on behalf of the PMC organization, this role will ensure engineering, procurement, construction, and CQV activities are aligned with applicable regulatory requirements, client standards, recognized industry practices, and project risk management objectives.
Functional job responsibilities will include but are not limited to:
- Review project activities for compliance with loss prevention standards and requirements.
- Support hazard identification, risk assessment, and mitigation activities.
- Coordinate with engineering, construction, and CQV teams to reduce project risk.
Required Education, Experience, & Skills:
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Fire Protection Engineering, Safety Engineering, or a related discipline.
- Minimum 10 years of experience in process safety, fire protection, or loss prevention.
- Knowledge of applicable fire, life safety, and hazardous material regulations.
- Experience conducting risk assessments and hazard analyses.
- Experience supporting capital projects in industrial or regulated environments for projects in excess of $500M TIC.
Preferred Education, Experience, & Skills:
- Experience supporting pharmaceutical, biotechnology, or chemical manufacturing facilities.
- Prior experience as PMC or Owner’s Representative for capital projects in excess of $1B TIC.
- Knowledge of NFPA, FM Global, OSHA, and process safety management requirements.
- Experience participating in PHA, HAZOP, or similar risk review activities.
- Familiarity with commissioning and startup safety requirements.
- Professional Engineer (PE), CFPS, or related certification.
