Position Overview

The Novelis team is seeking a Logistics Leader for the Oswego Network. This position could be located out of our Atlanta, GA or Novi, MI office. The person in this role will report to the Logistics Manager. The ideal candidate will be responsible for leading transportation and logistics operations ensuring safe, reliable, and cost-effective movement across the network. This position is also responsible for the operational success of the dedicated automotive network within Novelis.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee and lead the entire logistics network from carrier selection to pickup and delivery for the Oswego, Kingston, and Guthrie plants.
  • Point person for all dedicated automotive fleet operations for coil and scrap movements within the network and meeting automotive customer requirements for transportation.
  • Develop and implement efficient logistics strategies to ensure timely and cost-effective movement of material including but not limited to Ingot, Coils, Scrap, Finished goods, and non-metal commodities.
  • Plan and support a pipeline of improvement projects related to logistics efficiencies and cost savings. Use data analytics, freight market intel, and TMS to drive decision-making
  • Support evaluation of carrier performance and expectations, operational performance metrics, and carrier communication. Address safety requirements and standards with carriers and assist with freight claim process.
  • Build and supervise KPI's to assess carrier performance, freight cost, and operational performance in coordination with manufacturing plants
  • Communicate outsourcing needs and maintain delivery service policy
  • Establish a strong network across the Novelis system working cross functionally with many partners
  • Provide support for capacity and tracking on expedite shipments as needed

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree required.
  • Minimum three years of Supply Chain or Logistics experience
  • Transportation experience preferred
  • Proven understanding of data analysis and management
  • Excellent teammate with experience influencing, leading, and driving partnership across functions
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
