OverviewCummings Electrical is looking to hire an experienced Electrical Estimator in Dallas-Fort Worth.
Responsibilities
- Review and evaluate project plans, specifications, bid documents, and other relevant materials to identify requirements for creating a bid proposal
- Calculate the cost of electrical construction based on a review and evaluation of available documents
- Consult with clients, vendors, and personnel from other departments to discuss and formulate estimates, and resolve issues
- Confer with engineers, architects, owners, contractors, and subcontractors regarding changes and adjustments to cost estimates
- Prepare estimates for management purposes such as planning, organizing, and scheduling work
- Attend job site walk-throughs with other estimators as necessary to ensure proper handling of any field conditions that may potentially impact construction, bids, or pre-construction designs
- Request quotes for materials and equipment from vendors and equipment suppliers
- Develop and maintain positive relationships with vendors
- Prepare bid documents, including specific scope letters for each project, evaluations with adjustments for buy-outs, labor rates, productivity, etc., and identify any inconsistencies, conflicts, or other issues
- Minimum 5+ years of relevant experience related to commercial and/or industrial projects
- Accustomed to estimating projects valued at $3 million and above
- Knowledgeable of the NEC and local codes
- Experience using industry-leading estimating software
