The Opportunity
The Los Angeles office of Manatt, Phelps & Phillips, LLP is seeking a highly qualified paralegal with 10+ years of civil litigation experience to join our nationally recognized Litigation Division.
Ideal candidates will have solid knowledge of litigation support and case management, experience organizing large caseloads, trial preparation and experience assisting at trial. Responsibilities include document review, document production, discovery, indexing, preparing exhibits for filing, e-filing, calendaring, cite-checking, trial preparation and courtroom support and other administrative duties as assigned.
Key Responsibilities:
Manage all phases of complex civil litigation support from case inception through trial.
Organize and maintain large, complex case files, document databases, and eDiscovery materials using platforms such as Relativity, DISCO, or comparable litigation tools.
Conduct document review, coordinate document production, and support large-scale discovery efforts.
Draft, prepare, and manage discovery requests, responses, exhibits, pleadings, and court filings.
Handle electronic filing in federal and state courts.
Maintain litigation calendars, monitor court deadlines, and ensure compliance with procedural requirements.
Perform legal research and cite-checking using platforms such as Westlaw and LexisNexis.
Assist attorneys with trial preparation, including witness files, trial binders, exhibits, case strategy support, and courtroom logistics.
Provide trial and courtroom support during hearings and trials.
Coordinate with attorneys, clients, experts, vendors, and court personnel throughout the litigation process.
Manage multiple high-profile matters simultaneously while supporting litigation workflow and case management needs.
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree
ABA approved Paralegal certificate
10+ years of paralegal experience in civil litigation
Proven litigation skills, including knowledge of document review and production, trial and trial prep experience
Experience with CS Disco, Relativity or comparable litigation support software
Strong research skills using Westlaw/LexisNexis
Highly detail oriented and strong proofreading skills
The base annual pay range for this role is between $135,000 – $155,000. The base pay to be offered will vary and depend on skills, qualifications and experience. A full range of medical, financial and/or other benefits dependent on the position will also be offered.
