Trueline, representing a nationally recognized Am Law firm with a strong commercial litigation practice, is seeking a Legal Administrative Assistant to join its litigation team in Chicago, IL. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced legal support professional who thrives in a fast-paced environment, enjoys supporting busy litigators, and takes pride in delivering exceptional client service while managing complex administrative responsibilities.

What You'll Do as the Legal Administrative Assistant:
  • Provide day-to-day administrative support to a team of commercial litigation attorneys
  • Draft, edit, proofread, and format legal documents, correspondence, and court filings
  • Prepare and electronically file documents in state and federal courts
  • Maintain and organize electronic case files using document management software
  • Review court orders and pleadings and coordinate docketing requests
  • Manage attorney calendars, schedule meetings, conference calls, and travel arrangements
  • Process time entries, assist with billing, expense reports, and accounts receivable activities
  • Open and close client matters, prepare engagement documents, and assist with conflict checks
  • Coordinate incoming mail, correspondence, and other administrative workflows
  • Serve as a dependable resource to attorneys and team members while meeting critical litigation deadlines

Must-Haves as the Legal Administrative Assistant:
  • 3-5 years of experience supporting attorneys in a law firm environment
  • At least 3 years of civil litigation experience involving state and federal courts
  • Experience with electronic court filing systems
  • Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
