Job Title: Line Superintendent

Work Place Flexibility: Onsite

JOB SUMMARY/PURPOSE:
Responsible for the scheduling and coordination of statewide distribution line Network activities, statewide local storeroom management of materials and inventory and minor storm restoration coordination activities. Requires strong working relationship with Customer Service Managers and Engineering Managers within region.

JOB DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Supervises and coordinates activities of multiple Utililty Foreman/Operations Coordinators and Supervisor, Construction staff who monitor Network workload on a daily and weekly basis and shift line and service resources as needed to meet customer commitments and reliability initiatives and programs.
  • Responsible for all activities associated with local storeroom personnel, materials and inventory and ad hoc Region storeroom.
  • Responsible for monitoring weather conditions and outages and directing and management of restorations workers for minor storm events during both regular and after hours.
  • Responsible for managing, planning construction, and executing the Asset Management Reliability Programs and Initiatives for network and Region.
  • Responsible for management of the underground and Network distribution line contractors performing work in area of responsibility.
  • Coordinates the assembling of out of town storm response teams and Local Storm Boss during a black event.


MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

Minimum education required of the position
  • Bachelor's degree in related field or the equivalent work experience.

  • 7-10 years


Minimum knowledge, skills and abilities required of the position
Distribution line construction, operations and maintenance knowledge. Strong leadership, negotiations and communication skills. Working knowledge of safety rules, practices and procedures. Computer skills with a working knowledge of Distribution Applications. Ability to respond to local and out of town minor and major storm restoration activities during regular and after hours. Knowledge of distribution line materials management processes and environmental processes associated with handling oil filled equipment or other environmentally sensitive areas. Knowledge of administering IBEW contracts.
